Chapter Seventeen: Hallowdate Part Two

Tate's POV:

I had just asked [Y/N] to be my girlfriend and I was praying she would say yes I was terrified of rejection. I wasn't even taking a single breath as I awaited her response. Keeping my eyes on her own beautiful set, I saw the moment she decided just what she was going to say.

"Of course Tate!"She said wrapping her arms tightly around my neck, my fears pushed aside as it was all her and I now. I had what I always wanted, someone who believed in me and knew I could be good for once. Sighing in relief my hands grabbed each side of her hips as I kissed her lips tenderly, it was just love put into it. Not that I was going to lie, I lusted for more than just the taste of her kiss but I wasn't going to push her into anything she wasn't ready for. That was one of the mistakes I made with Violet and it took a while to recover from that, I could learn and I was learning. She slid into my lap continuing the kiss deeper.

My right hand slid up supporting her lower back I pulled her even closer to me, and I had no intentions of letting her go anytime soon. Unfortunately someone else had other plans that I was not involved in that was going to break me. "Tate..."A voice said tauntingly coming from the top of the little sand dune next to us. Parting from [Y/N] I saw a sight that I had never expected to see again. It was the group of students that I had released from this goddamn filthy world. They had approached me before on this day before wanting to know why I had done it, now they were going to ruin everything I had worked so hard to gain with her.

"Tate, it's time for you pay. You have to repent for what you did to us. We had futures before you ended our chances to live them, now we will erase any kind of future you might have."A guy in a varsity jacket said slowly descending the dune. I didn't know what to do, I didn't want [Y/N] finding out what I had done she would hate me. I was also aware that she couldn't run with her injuries still fresh.

"[Y/N] wait here, I am going to take care of them. Whatever you do don't listen to a word they say, okay?"I said firmly making sure she was looking at me. I had to keep her safe and in the dark about all of this if it was the last thing I did.

"Who are they Tate? They seem to know you?"She asked me obviously horrified at the sight of them being able to tell that they weren't actual people.

"Yes Tate, who are we? Besides we aren't interested in you anymore, we are interested in her. She deserves to know the truth about you, and it will make you suffer as we have all these years. It's okay girl we aren't going to hurt you physically but what we have to say might come as a shock for you. This man is not who you think he is, he is actually the complete opposite. Years ago, so many years ago we were high school seniors with the promise of gifted futures. That was until the fateful day that we are forced to relive every single day of the rest of our existences. Sitting in the library studying and quietly talking amongst ourselves, when we heard screaming coming from the hallways. The doors slammed open and we saw him standing there with a gun in his hands. Scrambling we all tried to hide but it was no use, he found each and every one of us."A girl in a cheerleader outfit started explaining.

"[Y/N] they are lying! They just want to turn you against me!"I cried out wanting to take her away from these assholes. I started to pick her up but she stopped me, she was actually listening to them intently. I was so fucked it wasn't even funny, and there was nothing I could do to stop it from happening.

"One by one he picked us off, killing us instantly leaving us to rot. Then he went to his home, where the swat team shot him fifteen times in the chest. Don't let him fool you, the gun shots you see in his chest right now aren't fake. Those are his real wounds that caused him to perish."The guy in the leather jacket said hammering the last nail into my coffin.

[Y/N] turned to look me I could feel the anger and disappointment burning through my ghostly flesh. Peering back up at the group I saw a very amused looking Hayden perched behind them with her arms crossed and neck slashed. What could I say, it was all true and now she knew it. I felt the sensation of the world being lifted from my shoulders. I couldn't even glance at her but when I did I saw her grabbing her shoes and getting up to leave. "[Y/N] let me explain!"I begged trying to grab her and stop her but she was already leaving. Standing up I started chasing after her hoping that there was some way I could fix this but it might already be a lost cause. "Please just give me a chance!"I called out after her appearing in front of her.

"No Tate, you lied to me. You hid this from me, you are dead and a murderer. How could you do that?"She asked fighting back the urge to cry. "You made me care about you, and then you weren't in the least bit honest. I don't even know you, everything was a lie."She said grabbing her chest as if she were in pain. "I thought I had finally found someone who I could trust in my life but I was wrong. I don't know what hurts more, that I you lied or that I was lying to myself."She said pushing past me heading back towards the house.

"I was messed up then, I didn't completely lie to you! My mother was abusive and I didn't know how to handle my feelings This was all Hayden's fault she wanted to be with me but when I told her I didn't want her she made this happen. I've been working with Ben and trying to push forward instead of living in the past. You are my new start, everything I have dreamed about. I left all of that behind so that I could actually have a chance with you that wouldn't end in disaster."I explained following her closely telling her the truth. "The only reason that I didn't tell you is I didn't want it to ruin the possible future that we can have together. I'm not that person anymore."

"How can I know that for sure? How do I know that you aren't lying to me right now? I can't trust you anymore Tate. The pain I'm feeling is worse than any physical injury I have ever experienced and it's because of you."She said with a frown on her face, crinkling up as she silently sobbed. "And don't blame someone else for something that you should have done in the first place."

"It's all my fault, I know that [Y/N] I should have been honest with you from the beginning. Please give me another chance to make this right. I will tell you everything if you just promise to try and see past it to who I really am now."I pleaded as we got back to the house, standing on the front porch.

"Go away Tate."She said seriously. "Go away, I can't look at you right now!"She cried out and I disappeared into the basement. Laying against the cold concrete I just felt numb, the person that I thought would never send me away did just that. My heart was heavy as the darkness filled me once again, the light leaking out from my eyes. Sinking right back into the despair that I constantly fought back only this time it was winning. Nothing was going to be the same, especially me and it was time that I accepted that. No one did this but me, showing me that I hadn't actually changed. I was just fooling myself each and everyday that I imagined things could be different.

A/N: So are you going to forgive him? Do you think he should have told you this before he asked you to be his girlfriend? Please let me know if you liked it and if you want more! Also PLEASE SHARE! It would greatly help! Thank you for reading! <3 -A
