Savy's POV
It's been a few weeks since Luke and I found out that we're having a baby and I still can't believe it. We planned on having a little get together with our friends and family the same week as Luke has his big Opry debut so that we can tell everyone together.
We're just telling them that it's to celebrate. Harmless right?
I'm 12 weeks to the day and I'm even starting to show a little bit. Luckily though I'm still able to hide it without wearing tight shirts. Luke loves it though because he's still fascinated by the fact that I have a little baby growing inside me and that it's ours. He talks to my belly any chance he can get and I can't help but laugh because the baby doesn't even have ears yet. But Luke doesn't care he still does it anyways.
I'm still kinda learly about telling our family and friends because I don't want anything to happen to the baby because it's still early and I'm just now ending my first trimester. And I love the fact that Luke and I have a little secret to ourselves that no one else knows about. But at the same time I'm having a hard time keeping my mouth shut every time I'm at work and I have to run to the bathroom or grab a puke tray. People as questions but I just brush them off and luckily the let it go and don't question it.
We have all of Luke's family coming up from Georgia and Mattie today and we literally have no room for them. So Lee, Kelly and the kids are going to stay in our second bedroom, Mattie is going to sleep on the couch since she isn't bringing Marcus with her and LeClaire, Tommy, and Kaye and going to sleep on blow up mattresses in the living room. It'll be cramped for a few days but it'll be with it to have our family together.
Luke and I are going to the store today to pick up all the stuff that we need for everyone to stay with us as well as stuff for the party. Which is basically just food, paper plates, cups, napkins, a cake for Luke to actually celebrate his big debut.
****************
By the time we got back from the store it was 4pm and everyone would be showing up any second. Luke had to finish bringing the rest of the food and stuff in from the truck because they were laying down asphalt across the street and it immediately made me have to puke so I had to run to the bathroom.
I was still hunched over the toilet when I heard a faint knock on the door. I looked up and Luke was standing up against the door with his hands in his pockets. "How ya feelin baby?"
"Oh just dandy. Couldn't be better."
Luke smirked at me and came over and sat on the floor next to me and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into his lap so I had my head on his chest. "It'll get better baby I promise."
"I don't believe you. It just keeps getting worse the farther into the pregnancy I get. I thought it was supposed to be morning sickness. Not any hour of the day sickness."
"I know baby. But just think, at the end of it all we'll have a little adorable baby to call our own.""I know. I'm tryin trust me."
"Why don't you go lay down for a little while? I'll put the groceries away and work on dinner."
"I can't we have everyone coming today."
"I'll tell them you weren't felling good. They'll understand."
"You're sure?"
"Of course baby. Now off to bed you go."
"If I didn't still have the taste of puke in my mouth I would totally kiss you right now."
"I know and I would totally kiss you right back. Now bed Mrs. Bryan."I smiled at him as I stood up and went across the hall to our bedroom and crawled into bed and fell asleep instantly.
********
I got up a few hours later when I heard a commotion out in the living room. I quickly went into mine and Luke's attached bathroom and made sure I didn't have to puke again and freshened up before going out into the living room that was full of people. LeClaire, Tommy and Kaye were on the couch, Luke was in his recliner with Kris and Jordan in between his legs, Mattie, Lee and Kelly were on the floor sitting on the air mattresses with Til jumping behind them. I walked out and LeClaire stopped me instantly. "Oh Savy honey I hope we didn't wake you?"
"Oh not at all. I didn't hear you guys until I was in the hallway on my way out."
