Hello everyone, sorry it was a day late. I had to stay at work late yesterday and I didn't get a chance to finish the chapter. Of course I didn't want to just give you half a chapter. That would be silly, and I would be terribly disappointed if I were the reader.

Got home in a really niccccce taxi though, paid by the company. Ooo lala.. I could stretch my legs all the way forward. And I have long legs. I get so cramped. hehe!

So here you are for now another chapter, and hopefully another one on Friday!

************************************

English is almost over already and it seems that Mr. Schultz just can’t get his long winded speech over the syllabus and the reading for the school year over with.  If he described ‘Moonlight on the Avenue of Faith’s’ plot any further, we might as well not read it and still pass the class.

“Remember class, we have many books to read, and a paper to write each week, so we have to go at a moderate speed. Don’t skip on your reading, because you will all be asked for your input in class.”

Mr. Schultz turned to write the full list on the board as well as point out what we should keep an eye out for when we read. It was pretty much the usual, themes, symbolism, foreshadowing… If I didn’t know any better, English class was pretty much the same every year. I of course enjoyed it. Who could resist reading all these books? Each one was terribly interesting and full of lessons. I loved to read. It was my escape into new worlds and different points of view.  In fact it always seemed to be the only way I was going to experience the world. Though, I think my reading brought on many dreams. I had quite the imagination as I slept, and though I never dreamt of anything like ponies or secret gardens, even my nightmares I found fascinating. That is, after I realized they were only nightmares and not reality. Sometimes my dreams were so vivid, I could not tell the boundary between sleep and wakefulness.

Then something hit me in the right side of my face. I blinked perplexed and I turned to my right to see Bianca looking at me sheepishly from the corner of her eye. Her eyes then darted down to the floor. There I saw a folded piece of paper. I looked up to check if Mr. Schultz was still preoccupied. He spoke as he faced the board, pointing out what he wanted us to note.

I took the chance to dip down to my side and scoop it up. I look up again to see if the coast was still clear, and then proceeded to open it.

-What are you thinking about?, it read.

I took my pen to scribble down:

~Nothing, you know mind wandering again. I wish we could have a class just to read and nothing else, like back in elementary school.

I passed the note back to B, in a much less dangerous fashion. One day, she was going to take an eye out. Our paper passing conversation continued much in this fashion.

-Oh that’s not that different than usual. I thought you would be thinking about those new exchange students.

The faces of the students flashed back to my mind. Darby’s perky grin, Rico’s knowing smirk, and finally the set strong angular face of Mansur. My thoughts hit pause here. I wonder what was on his mind. What he was thinking about. Afghanistan, though mentioned in the news so often, was still a complete mystery to me, and it seemed this Mansur had some secrets lying in his eyes.

Or maybe it was only me.

~They look like interesting people, I am curious if we will have any classes with them.

-Maybe, though I heard Darby’s really smart, she may be in the higher level courses. So what do you think of Rico?

~He seems that he knows he is an Enrique look alike. He and Darby should reach the top of the social ladder in no time.
