CHAPTER 27

CARLI

"Shh, baby boy." I cooed as Leo cried. His cry slowly stopped, going silent as he laid in my arms. He was so tiny, so perfect. His chubby cheeks and little nose made me want to giggle. He hadn't opened his eyes just yet, but I was waiting to know what color of eyes he had. There was just a little bit of dark brown hair on his little head, slightly curly just like Harry's. 

Harry sat beside me in bed, his smile never leaving his face. "He's so cute." Harry chuckled. 

"Isn't he?" I smiled, my body tired and my mind exhausted. There was a constant ache from my center and my legs felt like jello. 

"How about you take a nap? I can take care of him." Harry whispered.

"Are you sure?" I looked over at Harry. 

"You just fed him so I think he'll be okay." Harry nodded. I smiled and carefully handed Leo to him. Harry got up with Leo in his arms, his low voice softly singing to our son. I watched as Leo laid in Harry's arms, his little arm placed on Harry's toned chest. Harry had taken off his shirt so Leo could have skin to skin contact. I laid myself down and got comfortable, the lights slowly turning down thanks to Harry.

I turned on my side and closed my eyes, baby Leo clouding my thoughts. 

HARRY STYLES

The door to the hospital room opened, making me shift on my feet and look. Niall was grinning like an idiot with Karl behind him. I grinned back as I held Leo, looking over to see Carli was sound asleep. I walked to Niall and Karl, turning so they could see Leo better. Niall looked down at my son, his grin growing wider. 

"Mate, he's so cute!" Niall said loudly. Leo slightly jumped in my arms, awakened by the idiot. His face went a little red and a sob escaped his tiny mouth. I sent a glare to Niall who just shrugged, not knowing what he did. 

"Give him to me." I heard Carli say. I turned to see her have an annoyed look on her face. I walked over to her and handed Leo to Carli. She held him, rocking him gently as he calmed down. Carli pulled the blankets over the two of them as Leo laid on her chest.

"You guys are idiots." Carli mumbled. "Don't you know a newborn get's scared easily?"

"Well, no." I mumbled. "I didn't know that."

Carli softly patted Leo's back softly as he whimpered. "If you're going to be around our baby you have to whisper, you two." Carli said to Niall and Karl. They nodded and walked in the room farther, their eyes watching Leo.

"No. You can't hold him just yet, Niall." I said before he could even ask. He huffed and crossed his arms.

"No fair. He needs to know who his uncle Niall is!" 

"Quiet. Voices." Carli hissed. I thought it was cute how Carli turned into this, so protective and careful. I smiled and Niall looked at me to correct her, which I just shook my head at him.

"Don't scare my son." I simply said, smirking as Niall frowned. 

"You two have changed." Niall admitted. "I like it."

"Thank you?"

"Thanks." Carli mumbled and held onto Leo.

"How did it feel?" Karl asked after a moment of silence. "Did it hurt?"

"Hurt is an understatement." Carli breathed. "It's the most pain I've ever gone through."

"It can't be that bad." Niall said. Wrong move, mate. 

"Excuse me?! Yes, it is. Have you ever pushed a fricking baby out of your tiny Vagina?" Carli said, her voice full of venom. 

"No but-"

"Exactly. You can shut up now." Carli snapped. Carli looked at me, begging me silently to make them leave. I nodded and pushed them out, softly closing the door behind me. I walked back and was given Leo, Carli snuggling back into the sheets. "I'm taking another nap. Please don't let anyone except for staff in, I'm too tired to mingle."

"I understand." I smiled, rocking Leo softly. 

An hour had passed and Leo was being good. Carli was sound asleep and the nurse just asked me if I wanted to give him his first bath. Being the guy I am, I said no at first. What if I hurt Leo? He's so tiny and fragile. But after minutes of thinking it over, I said yes and now I'm in the bathroom looking down at my naked baby. His eyes were opened and I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful mix of green and brown that adorned his orbs. He looked like me, but I could tell he would morph more like the both of us. I mean, looking like me isn't a bad thing. I'm pretty hot.

I chuckled as Leo yawned, his tiny tongue sticking out his mouth. "You're too cute." I cooed, testing the water with my free hand. Knowing that it was perfect temperature, I carefully set Leo in the baby bath. His eyes went wide with the realization of the surrounding water, his mouth opening in a little 'o'. I smiled and gently washed him, the smell of baby wash filling the room. 

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine." I began to softly sing as Leo got fussy. His whimpers stopped, his little hands lifting up into the air. I smiled and gently washed him, chuckling as he seemed to love the bath time.

After he was clean I wrapped a blanket around him, being careful that I don't wrap him to death. I held Leo close to me as I walk back to Carli. She still was asleep so I sat in the rocking chair, watching Leo in my arms. His tongue poked out again, a whimper escaping his lips. I looked up at the clock and noticed that it was time to feed Leo.
