CARLI

We arrived home late, Leo sound asleep as Harry took him out of his seat. He curled into Harry once Leo knew who was holding him. Supposedly babies can tell people apart and know when their parents hold them. I took off my shoes and slipped into some comfortable clothes, watching as Harry laid Leo in his bassinet.

"Harry--"

"I think we should talk." Harry said, turning to me. I looked at him and tried to read his emotions, but I couldn't. I sighed and nodded, sitting on the couch. Harry sat next to me and sighed, his fingers running through his hair. Worry filled my body as Harry looked at me, as if he didn't know how to say something.

"What's going on?" I whispered. Harry sent me a soft smile and kissed me.

"Why are you worried, love?" Because I'm hiding something from you.

"I'm not." I breathed.

"You shouldn't have done it, honestly. But I'm really proud of you." Harry spoke, a smirk tugging at his lips. I looked at him confused.

"What?" I asked, playing dumb.

Harry chuckled. "Karl told me what you were planning." My eyes went big as I stared at him, my jaw clenching.

"Why did he tell you?" I said, my voice slightly raising.

"Because I'm his best mate and his boss?" Harry raised his eyebrows at me. "Why did you lie to me and do something behind my back?"

"I wanted to do something on my own.. If I would've told you, you would've stood against it and forced me not to do it." I mumbled, my fingers playing with his suit jacket. Harry watched me, his lips turned down in a frown.

"True." Harry said. "But once he explained to me what you accomplished, I can't say I'm not proud. It was a reckless move but honestly baby, I think you've come out of your shell. What you did.. Was brave. Was strong. Not a lot of people can do that."

I looked up at Harry. "So you're okay with what I did?"

"Yes." Harry slowly nodded. "But don't do it again without my knowledge, okay? What if something happened? I'm not there to protect you."

"I don't always need your protection." I muttered.

"I know you don't, but remember when you went off and tried to save the day with Liam and your father? You got shot and almost died. Want to put me through that again? You stole my heart and it was shattered when that happened. I don't care if you think you can do it by yourself, you probably can. But from now on you let me protect you. Stop going against me and let me be your hero." Harry whispered as he looked at me. I watched him as he put his large hand on my cheek. "Just let me be your hero." He repeated as he leaned in, his soft lips coming into contact with mine. I kissed him back, our lips syncing together as I rested my hands on his chest. Harry's tongue slowly slid into my mouth, a soft moan coming from him as I bit down on it. I giggled as Harry pulled away, his eyes shaded darker.

"Tease." Harry snapped. He chuckled as I fluttered kisses on his face.

"Come on. I want to show you something." I got up and walked up to our room, Harry hot on my heels. I pulled the suitcase out of it's hiding place and sat it on our bed. Harry sprawled out on the bed, his eyes watching me. I opened the case up and grabbed all the documents and envelopes, setting it down in front of him. "This is all I could fine. But it has tons of information we could use."

Harry looked at the documents slowly, putting time into each of them. Harry frowned and sometimes glared at the paperwork, not happy about what he was reading. I was sitting there, watching him. "This is outstanding." Harry spoke after awhile of silence. "Maybe I should let you do more things on your own." Harry sent me a wink.

"You should." I smirked and crawled to him, straddling his lap. "Now all we have to do is continue with our plan."

"I want you to go undercover again. Think you can handle it?" Harry asked as he laid his hands on my waist.

"Course. Where this time?"

"My dad's office." Harry slowly spoke.

"Sure." I nodded. "But now we need to plan something else." I put all the paperwork back and grabbed the stack of magazines Gemma had dropped off for me. I sat them beside Harry. his face draining of color.

"No.." Harry groaned, his eyes rolling as I giggled.

"We have to Harry." I smiled. "We need to plan our wedding!"

"Great. Now you'll make me choose which color of napkins we have on the table. Peach or Eggshell?" Harry mockingly spoke, trying to speak in my American accent. I pinched his arm hard and heard him hiss. "Ouch!"

"Don't be rude." I snapped. "Besides.. you'll choose much more things than that." I giggled, winking at him. Harry sent me a playful glare as he pulled me into him, his cologne taking over my senses. I smiled as I flipped through a magazine slowly, looking at the wedding dresses carefully. I smiled as Harry nuzzled his face into my neck, his hands softly rubbing my thigh.

"Get off me." I huffed, squealing as Harry growled. I laughed as Harry tickled me, his fingers digging into my sides. I breathlessly laughed and wiggled around. A phone ring stopped his actions, his body slowly pulling out of the bed and going to the dresser where his IPhone was charging.

"Hello?" He lowly spoke. Harry hated it when people called late. There was a moment of silence, Harry's face falling as he listened. "Do they know what kind yet?...... I.. I dont know what to think now...... Is it terminal?.... Oh I hope not.. Yeah, yeah. I'll come and see her... Tomorrow morning is too late? I'll come not then.. Alright.... Talk to you soon.." Harry hung up and turned to me. I sat down the magazine.

"Baby what's wrong?" I asked.

"It's my mum..." Harry said his voice cranking. "Gemma said she's in the ICU.. They think it's cancer..."

Oh no...
