JULIETS POV

The doctors voice echoed in my mind. Every single sound was gone, it disappeared. All I heard was the doctors voice and my heart.

My heart was at my throat. My vision was a blur. The doctor put his hand on my shoulder. I knew he was talking to me but I couldn't gather the composure to understand. I just saw his lips moving. A nurse joined him and suddenly 2 paris of eyes were on me. She put her arm on my other shoulder.

I put my hands to my face and I tried taking in what they told me.

"You should see your grandma," the doctor said to me. I looked at the nurse and she had tears. She gave me a faint smile and rubbed my back.

My eyes got heavy and my body ached. I slowly got up with the doctor and the nurse helping me. I looked around and almost every nurse was looking at me. It was as if they all knew what was going to happen.

I turned to the hall and saw my mom.

She was there. She was in a hospital robe, smiling at me.

The doctor and the nurse noticed. I let go of them and my eyes grew wide.

"Juliet?" the doctor said to me. I turned to him and turned to look at my mom but she was gone.

The hallway was gone. My eyes filled with water and I held onto the nurse. My body got even more heavier.

"Okat, okay." I made sure they both knew I was fine. I held them back when I got to the door of the hospital room.

Just standing there I felt the cold breeze. I didn't know whether or not to take the step forward. I took in a gulp and slowly opened the door.

Inside was my grandma, lying still like a rabbit when it dies. My heart beat slowed down. I turned around to look at the doctor and nurse and nodded at them.

They nodded back and off they went.

I went in, closed the door behind me and put my hand over my mouth.

I couldn't bear watch her like that.

As I got closer, the beeping of the machince became louder and louder. It felt as if it was monitoring my heart beat.

I was now standing right by my grandma. I stared at her for a minute and observed her. No motion, no eye movement, nothing.

My hands made their way ot her which lied perfectly on her sides. Her hand was ice cold and I began to rub it. I held her hand to my face and it all let go.

The sobbing made it hard for me to breathe. The tears rolled down one after the other.

"I'm so sorry, grandma. I'm so sorry." I kissed her hand, interwining my fingers with hers.

Her loosened hand then got a slight grip on mine. I looked at her hand and then at her. I wiped my eyes and her eyes were slwoly opening.

"Grandma! Grandma!"

Her eyes still had minimal movement. But with the small effort she had, she opened them. She looked at me and smiled.

More tears made their way down my cheeks.

"Don't" She spoke very slowly and in pauses. "cry."

She gently wiped the tears off my cheeks. I grabbed her hand and held it tight.

"I'm so sorry, Grandma. I never meant to do this to you. I never did."

I buried my face into her chest. She slowly massaged the back of my head.

"Don't worry about it." Her voice was so faint and so subtle. But at the same time it was the loudest to me.

"How can I not worry? I made your life horrible. I put you through hell, through things you don't deserve. I'm the reason for this happening to you."

"Juliet, listen to me. Don't ever blame yourself. This is just a part of life, a part of my age. Look at me," She paused. "I love you. I always have and always will." She paused again, taking in a breath. "You made my life better."

I buried my face into her chest again. Her heart beat was getting slower and slower. The beeping sound became soothing and soothing.

I lifted my head and she had a smile on her face.

Her smile faded away and the beeping sound came to it's stop.
