My footsteps made a steady rhythm as I walked along the glossy floor of the airport. Caleb's hand held mine as we headed towards the check-in counter. It was a bit chilly from the air conditioning but Caleb's close proximity let his body heat warm me from the inside out. I squeezed his hand as we waited in line.

His brown eyes landed on mine and I swear my heart did a flip. A smile slowly spread across his face and he leaned down to kiss me. He pulled away slowly, as if savoring the moment. I smiled. I was going to miss him, a lot.

"I'll come home as soon as I can." Caleb promised.

"And I'll be waiting." I replied. His eyes shined and I couldn't help but melt from his gaze.

"About that." He began to say as he dug into his pocket and pulled out his house keys.

I raised an eyebrow.

"I know times are rough for you. I know you aren't telling me about your financial problems, but love, you don't have to lie to me. Im your fiancé. Its my job to take care of you. So I want to ask you something."

My heart started thumping, hard. I didn't realize that he knew I was having problems. When I stopped working after I got depressed, I ignored the bills. My mom couldn't keep up with her own bills while also paying mine, so my bills started piling up. After almost a year I was in some serious debt.

However, I never told Caleb. I didn't want him to have to bail me out, it wasn't his job. He didn't spend the money. Someone must've told him and the only person who knew about my financial issues was Sarah and my mom. The only logical person who I knew would tell him what was going on would be my mom. I sighed, mothers.

"Will you move in with me?" He asked, hopeful. I gulped.

I know Caleb and I are engaged but we never took the step to moving in with each other. I mean we were going to move in together when we moved to New York, but that of course never happened. I guess we were to busy with our own lives that the thought never occurred to us to move in with each other.

Now that he was asking me, well I didn't know what to say. I was happy, but hesitant and cautious. Would it be right if I moved in with him? Would it be right to throw all my bills onto him? I didn't think that was fair at all.

"I know what your thinking Evy, but I already have everything settled. Realtors will be coming around during the week to look at the house and hopefully sell it for you, if your okay with it of course. And your mother well I told her already and I believe she already started to pack your things." He said reassuring me.

Looking back to earlier this morning, I finally understood why my mom had piles of gigantic boxes when she came into my house. I asked her what they were for but she said she was just going to fix up the attic and clean it up a little. I found it very odd, but then again my mom was a very odd women. Caleb pulled up then and I didn't have time to ask my mother what she really was doing.

"So, will you move in with me?" Caleb asked once more. I nodded my head.

"Yes, I would love to." I replied and kissed him.

We pulled apart and he gave me his house keys. I stuck them in my front pocket.

"So do I put my stuff in the guest room or-"

"You can just put all your things in my room. No way am I letting you sleep all by yourself when im right next door. Plus we are engaged, there's nothing to hide between you and me." He said with a big grin and a glint in his eye.

"Okay."

"Next in line please." The lady at the check in counter called.

We walked up towards the counter and Caleb got his ticket and checked in his bag.

We walked towards the security check. I wouldn't be able to go any further. Caleb and I stopped to the side. The airport was crowded, full of people rushing from here to there. I looked at him, tears threatening to escape. I turned away not able to meet his eyes. I didn't want him to see me cry over nothing. He's seen me cry enough.

I looked out the window and saw the planes and the little cargo train that they use to move the bags. I saw the sun. It was shining brightly and there wasn't a cloud in sight.

I felt Caleb's hand softly cup my cheek and turn my face towards him. I leaned my head into his hand. He sighed when he looked at me, giving me a small smile. His beautiful brown eyes sad, but also... happy?

"Im going to miss you." He said.

"Me to." I replied softly.

"I'll see you when I get back right?"

I nodded my head.

"I'll be right outside waiting for you. You'll see me with a big smile." I smiled at that and he chuckled.

"I'll be looking for you."

"Promise me you'll be back as soon as you can?"

"Promise."

With that he leaned towards me and kissed me softly on my lips. My insides tingled and a warm sensation traveled through my body.

"Flight 290 will be boarding in ten minutes." The voice from the speakers on the ceiling said loudly.

We pulled away, my eyes still close. I opened them and saw Caleb smiling down on me. He pulled me into a hug.

"Im going to miss you Evy." He said. "Wish you could've came with me."

From his voice however I knew that was a lie. I had a sinking feeling. He didn't want me to come with him. He was only saying that to make me feel better, in reality however it was only making me feel worse.

"Me too."

He kissed me once more and pulled away walking towards the check-in. He waved goodbye and I did the same.

"Caleb! Be safe." I called out to him.

He stopped and looked back at me. His eyes twinkled and my heart beat rapidly. He nodded his head.

"I will." He replied loudly over the noise of the people.

"Promise?" I yelled back.

He smiled.

"Promise."

I blew him a kiss and he caught it, stuffing it into his pocket. My insides melted. He still remembered what we used to do in high school. I hadn't done that to him in over two years. A tear slowly escaped, but I managed a smile. He waved once more and walked away. My heart all the while, aching for him.
