When you're hiding in the bathroom
With the door locked up
Hugging your knees
Wishing it'd all stop
He's drunk
Like last night and every night before
You wish you could leave
Run to some place warm
But with the crashing and banging
You'd best stay where you are
He used to be nice
He really did
But now he's just angry
Always angry till bed
You're scared for your life
But why should you care
Its not like your useful
He's made that quite clear
So now each night
The doors slam and crash
And the screaming and yelling
You're left scared and alone
With nothing but anxiety
But then once he's all warn out
And forgotten just what he'd said
Forgotten what he'd done
He comes knocking
Saying he's sorry
Without knowing what for
It's such a heartless apology
That you're expected to accept
And if you don't
It happens all over again
So what happens behind these closed doors
Is not for public view
Its never seen
Never heard
Never understood by anyone
