Chapter Five: Hazel

Honestly, I didn’t pay attention to whatever Tracey was saying. I couldn’t wait for this day to end and see Cody. What should I wear? I never go out in a date before, this worries me. I was returned back to reality when Tracey waves her hand over my face.

“Hello? Earth to Hazel?”

“Oh yes...” I replied back.

She was studying me with her intense gray eyes. “Were you listening to every word I said?”

“Of course, we are talking about your party”

“Yes but what about the party?” she didn’t give me time to answer when she screamed in delight. “Oh my gosh! Are you blushing?”

I didn’t notice I was blushing when she gave me a mirror. “Wow, this is new”

“Forget the party, tell me what happened today” she took the mirror and looked at me, waiting for my story.

I told her what happened, Max stealing my phone, seeing my old friend Cody and asking me out tomorrow night.

She looked shock when I told her the last part. “Thank the heavens! This day finally came!” she said it so loud that we might wake the whole neighborhood.

“You my friend need to look good on your first date” she continued

“It’s not a date. We’re just going to watch a Movie and that’s it. Nothing special is going to happen” I replied trying to sound confident but I do hope something happens.

“Still my pessimistic friend, we need to get you a makeover.”

When morning came, Tracey was waiting for me outside. I didn’t take long to get to her. As we were in the car she said “We’re going to the mall and find you a hot outfit for your date tonight”

“Tracey, it’s not a…” she cut me off.

The mall really huge and Tracey wants to check every store (She’s going to kill me). We have different taste when it comes to clothing. The outfits I picked would be to dull for her and the outfits she picked would be too dashing for a movie night out. Finally, we came to a point that we both agreed on a same outfit. It was a grey tweed sweater partnered with a cropped skinny jean and black doll shoes. This outfit is perfect for a movie night out.

After the outfit, we decided to buy some make up. Because it’s night, we bought a hue lipstick and light pink blush.

It was already six when we left the mall. I went to the bathroom to get a shower and prepare myself. While I was in the shower, I prayed that this would turn out to be good. No distractions and interventions please.
