Chapter 9- understanding

“Bella what’s on your mind?” asked Felix after a moment’s hesitation.

I stood there staring straight at the left wall behind Felix, not really seeing the cobblestone wall, but seeing a new plan forming for the past lovers in my old life. I still could feel the wicked smile as it stayed spread across my face as I continued my gaze of the close future.

“Oh nothing much, but the downfall of the Cullen and the werewolf,” I replied blinking turning my attention back to Felix who looked a little terrified of my plan, but yet intrigued by my thoughts of bringing them down.

“What do you want me to do Bella?” asked Felix wanting in on whatever I had planned for them.

“What I want you to do my dear Felix is go get Aro and tell him to meet me two alleys over from the clock tower entrance,” I replied.

“What about the others?” he questioned.

“No just Aro, his bodyguard, and the others that go out with him when Aro hunts rarely,” I said.

“What about Jane or Demetri?”

“No definitely not Jane and Demetri cannot be trusted anymore from his behavior earlier.”

“Why not Jane? She’s Aro’s favorite,” he asked with a confused expression.

I didn’t know what Felix’s problem was today, usually he’s on board with whatever someone suggests but for some reason he wants to plays twenty questions and waste precious time- time that I don’ t have at the moment to spare. With each second escaping from me, as I stand here and try to explain my reasoning, it’s that much less time that I don’t have to make sure my plans are carried through.

“Because she used to be his favorite,” I answered but he still continued to look at me completely lost. “Haven’t you noticed that Aro is placing me in Jane’s old spot- how he calls on me for everything that he used to give to Jane?” I added more to my statement, maybe hoping that he finally got at what I was driving at.

“Oh yes I have noticed that,” he replied after a minute’s hesitation. I had glanced off at the opposite end of the alley, waiting on my time to leave and head to the spot I had seen the psychic saw in the short distance future. “So what about me?”

“What about you?” I asked as I looked back over towards him.

“What do you want me to do after I tell Aro? Do you want me to come and help you?”

“No,” I answered quickly and I could see the hurt spread across his face. “What I mean is that I need you to watch Jane, Alec, and Demetri- make sure that they don’t leave the palace because they would mess everything up. Trust me Felix I would love to have you by my side, however I need you somewhere else more,” I added quickly as my voice sounded true even though it wasn’t what I wanted to say.

“I understand Bella, I didn’t even think about that,” he said.

“Now hurry and tell Aro and if you can get him by himself that would be all the more better. And if Jane or the others ask after Aro has left just tell them that he went on a private hunting trip.”

“Can do Bella,” he turned and started heading for the entrance that our victims had entered heading back towards the fountain and back under the clock tower.

“And make it quick,” I whispered, knowing that he heard me, as he stepped outside the alley and into the streets.

I faced the opposite way and headed through the rest of the alley, making my way back around to the place I saw before. As I was quickly moving through the crowded streets the real thoughts returned of my reasonings for sending Felix away. My one and true reason was to get my own personal revenge on the Cullen and werewolf.

The vampire for because he would never turn me until I finally married him. But now I have a better understanding why he didn’t- he was afraid that I would be stronger in strength and in my power and that would be enough for me to leave him to find someone else better to fill in his place- so he wanted to keep me as a pitiful weak human.

The werewolf- I don’t really understand why I want my revenge for him anyway. Maybe in the end because he made me actually love someone, like I could never live without him if something were to happen to him. And with that reason he made me weak, weaker than what the vampire did to me because the werewolf caused me to turn soft and caring- never having to worry about taking care for myself because I always knew he would be there to protect me. But what happened to that plan?

Caius found us and took me away and brought me to my better place- where now I’m in control and can fight for myself without the need to have to rely on someone else. The Volturi have turned me back to the way I was before I ever moved to Forks- back into my stronger older self now with more anger towards everyone else and the thirst for power and coming out on top.

I was nearing the alley in the vision, only a few blocks away. I figured that if I’m battling a werewolf and a vampire I better fed again before I face them. Just then a guy in his early twenties was about to walk passed me, what my luck.

I winked towards him and indicated for him to follow me into the alley right beside me. And like a sucker for a pretty face he followed right after me like a little lost puppy- thinking that he was going to score with me but it was I that was doing the scoring.

It didn’t take me long to drain this animal’s body, he didn’t even knew what had hit him before I turned around and snapped his neck very quickly and accurately. I pushed the body underneath one of the large dumpsters, wiping my mouth off, before continuing on with my mission.

Now about to turn onto the final street, I felt totally enriched with strength- my thirst completely satisfied. I could see the back huge space in between two alley streets. This was the exact place I had seen as I was sure of it.

I turned onto the opening making my way slowly but at a more swifter pace than the humans. I could feel my long black cloak sway around my feet as I headed for the back wall that surrounds the entire city. I could hear one deep husky voice as he asked someone if they were all right, a voice that I knew so well.

As I was even with the alley on the left I simply glanced towards its direction and I saw a set of golden eyes met mine and then a medium brown set. The look on both of the men’s faces was at first suspicion and then maybe realization.

I then turned, changing my path, heading towards the alley on the right- turning my back to the men knowing that they would come after me. I heard two sets of footfalls leave the darkness of the alley and just past the safety that it brought.

“Wait,” called the werewolf. I halted, my cloak swaying forward in the motion of my direction as it too stopped with me, and continued to face my back towards them. “Is that really you?” he questioned after a short moment’s pause.

I then turned to face them and their expressions changed of being surprised that they had finally found me, little did they know they’ll be wishing that they hadn’t later.

“Bella,” breathed the vampire.

I smirked towards them as I knew that my plan was falling perfectly into place…
