Chapter 11; Trials and Short Tempers

"Who was that we saw earlier??" I questioned my friends as we sat in a small room. Mikasa was hunched over a bed. The last I heard the MP's locked Eren up in a cell below the building. Mikasa wasn't really taking kindly to it. Armin was on the floor next to the bed, Jean was leaning up against the wall which left me to pace around the room. "And why the fuck do we have to do this again?!" I mumbled angrily.

"That man we saw was none other than Lance Corporal Levi, the Squad Leader of The Special Operations Team, more commonly referred to as Humanities Strongest..." Armin said slowly. "And we have to do this because...after everything they're still scared of Eren."

"So we all have to be individually questioned and then they're putting Eren on trial?! He did us all a favor!!" I nearly shouted.

"Scarlett, calm down." Jean spoke softly as he put both of his hands on my shoulders to stop me from pacing.

"I-it just doesn't make sense." I sighed. "What are they going to do to him.." I rubbed my aching head, only to remember that I had a bandage and a deep cut there. I hissed in pain as I drew back my hand.

"What even happened to you two?" Jean said as he looked back and forth between Mikasa and I. He was referring to all the injuries we sustained when Eren lost control and tried to kill us.

"We fell." I lied. If he knew Eren had done this when he was a titan...well all hell would break lose. He sighed and carefully moved a strand piece of hair away from my face, he let his hand brush against my cheek. I cleared my throat awkwardly and moved my head away from him to hide the fact that my cheeks were crimson red. The door to the room swung open, showing an older MP soldier.

"Armin Arlert, Jean Kirstein, it's your turn hurry up." The man said before leaving. The two of them sighed as Armin pushed himself up from the floor. I mumbled good lucks to them as they exited the room. Mikasa looked up at me as if she was asking for a few moments alone. I smiled slightly and nodded my head. I closed the door behind me as I looked around. I began walking down the hall, taking in every small detail. The MP's building sure was nice, I'll give them that. But that's also where the problem lies. I continued walking and looking at all the pictures hanging up on the wall until I rather roughly bumped into someone. I yelped slightly as I lost my footing and began descending back. I shut my eyes as I braced myself for impact. I landed against the hard wood floor with a loud thump.

"Owww..." I groaned. The fall brought back the aching pain from all my injuries that had finally started to subside.

"Tch, watch where you're going brat."I opened my eyes to see who I had bumped into. The first thing I saw were the same emotionless grey eyes that saved me only moments before. I groaned as my head began throbbing. He tch'd and held out his gloved hand to me. I graciously took it. He pulled me up with great strength, it took me by surprise as I accidentally fell slightly into him.

"U-uh" I stuttered as I pushed away from him. I hissed slightly in pain as the pain in my head increased. I held one hand up to it as if that would stop the pain. "S-sorry. I didn't see you there." I mumbled as he stared at me with a bored expression. I examined him closely. He was definitely much more attractive up close... And damn it!! He is taller than me. He had to be about two or three inches taller than me. Well, I was right about that atleast.

"Oi! What are you staring at brat?" He rolled his eyes. My eyes widened at the fact that he caught me looking at him.

"Uh- I uh- well you see." I laughed awkwardly. "I just... I just noticed that you were the person who saved me and my friends earlier. Errr... Lance Corporal Levi, I think?" He scoffed slightly and leaned in closer.
