As marijuana is being legalized in some states, the price for it has gone down, leading Mexican who grow cannabis to switch to growing poppies as the demand for Heroin causes them to earn more money from harvesting opium from poppies. In Mexico, there are HUGE crops for poppies, and the farmers and harvesters get lots of money for it. A lot of the time, the farmers don't even understand what the poppies and opium is being used for. Many children and teens drop out of school to harvest the opium. They're ideal workers because they work well on the mountain-like terrains. None of the farmers or harvesters actually use the Heroin though.
I've got this problem with drugs. Please don't use drugs. Between 2014 and 2015, heroin related deaths increase by 125%! That's like, crazy. It's been used more frequently as pain-killers (commonly used for a high) are getting more expensive (to prevent these pain-killers from being used this way). Don't do drugs 'cause they'll basically ruin your life. Seriously. And heroin is like, HIGHLY addictive. I don't even know what I'm saying anymore. Just don't do drugs.
