This rant will be relatively short, 'cause I don't have much to say. I was peacefully watching Crash Course on Youtube, learning about psychology, when suddenly, BOOM! I'm interrupted with a huge argument about GamerGate in the comments section. Yay! There were guys who were Pro-GamerGate and they were arguing with Anti-GamerGate people. It was like, really messy. This one guy who was Pro-GamerGate brought up the fact that most people who used the GamerGate hashtag were all trolls. Then, he went on to mention that Anti-GamerGates had sent non-trolling threats to these GamerGate people in response to their threats, and the GamerGate hashtag users were fired. And how you should see that the GamerGate hashtag users actually got threats that weren't trolling.
My thoughts on that? First off, I don't hold any pity or sympathy, or empathy for those GamerGate trolls. Why? Because they're trolls trolling about raping and shootings. Some people might call me too serious or "stuck-up" because I think that, but seriously, why would you troll about rape and shootings? Second off, you should know there might be a consequence when you put this words out there, and this is the internet people, where people are going to throw stones at you of telling a girl you are going to rape them.
And then these Pro-GamerGate people go off talking about the Anti-GamerGate feminists, who I can't say were completely, innocent, but before you start talking about feminists like that, please note that feminism isn't only for women, and it isn't only about women's rights! And...DONE! Okay, rant finished. Wait a second, I have something else to say. Wait never mind, I forgot. I might rant about it another time if I remember.
So far, I'm kind of neutral in this GamerGate thing, and I don't have a complete idea, but I wouldn't support someone who threatens someone like that, and if Social Media and Journalism bashes there actions and threatens them, they should have expected it. And this wasn't really about the WHOLE GamerGate, it was more about the trolls...and from that situation, why I wouldn't take their side.
TODAY'S MEMORABLE LESSON FROM FAYTH: Don't troll about rape, please. Rape is a serious thing that should be used like that.
