Levi's POV~
Fuck! Stupid eyebrows just... AAHH!! I screamed in my head as I made my way to the meeting room. Or more of a multi purpose room actually. I made my tea that usually calms me down, but it only frustrated me even more. The hot beverage went down my throat, not even caring about how the extreme heat could effect it.
The door creaked open, and I didn't bother to see who it was. I just needed to think of a way to get into his office without getting caught.
"Levi," A familiar voice was heard. I faced to the direction of where she called my name. "Is everything alright?" Petra asks sitting next to me. It was nice to hear someone ask if you were okay.
"Obviously not. What makes you think I am?" I say in a rude tone. I know that I can be rude sometimes, but dammit. I'm just frustrated. She flinched back as if I slapped her.
"I'm sorry corporal. You just looked agitated and upset when I walked into the room." She apologized quickly. Five minutes was just silent awkwardness in my frustrated thoughts, and her just being with me.
"Is there anything I can do to help you sir?" she asked timidly. There was nothing she could do.
"No." No one has seen me upset before, and I plan for only Petra to see this miserable side.
"Is it about Hanji?" That name sparked my attention quickly. She never talks to Hanji anyways, so why does she mention her? There was a long moment of silence, and as I lifted my head up to see her expression, they were full of sorrow. It's like she could see right through my thoughts and my feelings, I never told her anything. I treated her like anyone else. Nothing different.
"Levi. It's okay to feel that way. I'll help you find Hanji." She smiles brightly. She is a nice girl. A sweet one in fact. Who wouldn't like her?
"Thank you. But I don't think there's anything you could do." Instead of leaving me alone, she stays here. It actually felt quite... Nice to have someone to just be there.
"If there really is nothing I could do, the least least I could do is listen." She says quietly and sweetly. I put my cup down, and sigh deeply.
"If you really want to help, then find out when Erwin isn't in his office." I felt terrible for asking so much from her. This whole thing could possibly get her kicked out of this whole regiment.
"I'll do anything for you," she saluted again. This was just like last time. It did lift my spirits a little. Just a bit. "You're my squad leader. I should do whatever you order me to do." Her eyes brightened with each word that came out of her mouth.
"Thanks. Don't get caught." I say calmly. One would say that I didn't care about others, but I shrug it off. Her legs jump up from the chair to run off to the door.
There should be a way that I can see her again. She can't hide away from the world forever.
Petra's POV~
So here we go again. I need to be sneaky and clever though. It would seem highly suspicious of me to ask Erwin himself when he would be gone, so who could I ask?
I paced back and forth in my room. My brain almost felt like it was going to be friiieeed with all of this thinking! On top of this, I was supposed to think about why Auruo always tries to act like me... I push away the thought for now. It is my priority to serve my corporal, and to satisfy his needs!
After hours of hard thinking and thoughts, nothing came yet.
"Argh! I don't have anything!" I quickly stood up on my bed and punched my pillow in the air to let out my frustrations. "I can't ask Gunter or Erd or Auruo because it would seem awkward! I wish things could just come to us easily and make us- AAHH!" I crashed down onto the bed, laying flat on my back. My head banged on the headboard a little, and sent stinging jabs of pain along my head and spine. Is it that hard to make the corporal happy?
"Grr. Only if I were taller." I growled into the soft pillow. I'd usually have a moment to myself where I wouldn't stop complaining about how short I was. I would even think about the tallest people I knew, even when I know that wouldn't solve my problem with being so short.
A thought came to me quickly with an imaginary light bulb above my head.
"Mike! Mike knows Erwin pretty well!" I squealed into my pillow, happy that I was a step closer to making Levi happy. For the first time, I felt proud of myself for whining and mentally torturing myself about being short.
"But where is he now exactly...?" Mike was an awfully strange person, sniffing others and trying to identify them. It was useful though when we go to expeditions. Does he even know I exist? Without much thought into where he could be, I decided to search the whole headquarters. No need to ask my other squad members. They don't know much about Mike either.
Erwin's POV~
There were some restrictions that I did plan for Hanji while I was gone obviously. Who would want to marry someone who isn't faithful? My beatings were simply just for her own good. I'm a disciplinarian as well, so it's my job at the same time.
The one person I trusted most to watch over Hanji was Mike of course. It would be ridiculous if I chose Levi.
Making my way to Mike's office, everything was in order. Cadets did what they were supposed to, and paid their respects to me by saluting. I simply nod my head and continue walking. I knocked on the heavy oak door, and as expected, Mike opened the door.
"Erwin. How may I help you?" He asks in a formal tone. He doesn't know about what happens between me and Hanji, and I plan to keep it that way. He doesn't need to know the details.
"Can you watch Hanji for me while I'm gone please?" Mike smiles and nods. Before I left, I remember something else I had to say. "She's also going through a rough time as well. You know, at the forest. She's a little... How do I say it? Paranoid? Let's just leave it at that." I add.
"Alright. It's understandable. I'll take care of her." As he shuts the door, my foot quickly prevents it from shutting.
"One more thing," Mike opens the door again. "Make sure Levi and Hanji aren't near each other. Thank you." Mike gives me a look of question, but he knows not to talk back to me when I give an order.
"Alright. I'll do that," he happily answers. He closes the door, and I make my way back to my office.
