(Hanji x levi) Heck of a Story to Tell

Unexpected help

A/N: sorry for the really weird chapter name earlier. I didn't want it to be like a little Dora the Explorer episode name like, WHERE IS HANJI?!?! No. I tried to make it like the book Where She Went, even though I've never read it before. And all credit goes to that book. So apologies for the confusion of that chapter name. So proceed!

Levi's POV~

To be honest, I had no idea what to do actually. Where do I start? How will I find clues? The thought made my head hurt full of frustration.

After hours of thinking and struggling to find a solution, there was only one thing that I could think of. I get out of my bed to walk down to the one person that annoyed me all day.

"Petra." I knock on her bedroom door. In a split second, her door swings open to her wide smiling face. "Hey. Ask Erwin where Hanji is. If he asks why you want to know, tell him that you want to help Hanji capture titans." I knew that capturing titans were really hard and dangerous, but it was all I got. It wasn't like I wanted her to die.

"Fine. But then what do I get in return?" She pursed her lips and crossed her arms. Obviously she tried to play hard to get, and it wasn't surprising either.

"I'll only give you your reward if this plan succeeds. If you don't," I stare into her eyes harder. "Then you won't get it." Petra only scoffs though. Who does she think she is? Before she was a nice and innocent woman, and now she's like... I don't even know. She's probably scared if Erwin believes her and actually get killed trying to capture one.

"Okay fine. I'll do it after lunch." As her hand grabs the door handle to shut the door on me, my large ones pulled the door away from her.

"You will do it now." Her face did show a little bit of fear in them, but I know she's a brave woman. She can take my glares. Especially for someone who always flirts with me.

"Yes sir." She walks out of her room with a small smile. The one thing that I did like about her at least was that she doesn't complain when I ask her to do something. Or at least until now. As her shoes quietly tap on the hardwood floor, I stop her.

"Oi. It would be better if you succeed as well." I yell out to her. She turns around with a determined look on her face.

"I'll succeed Commander. Don't you worry." Her attitude all the sudden changed for some reason. Mood swing? Can't be. She was flirting with me before, so I guess this is still part of it. Her right hand balls up into a fist over her heart with her left behind her back. As she turns to her left around the corner, I couldn't help but have a small smile.

Hanji's POV~

This whole week was like staying in a prison for a month. Except that I wasn't in one. I'm actually in Erwin's bedroom. It's surprising how I could stay in here for so long, but his beatings were really harsh. From violating my body to whipping me with his belt was already enough to handle. In fact, that isn't even half of what he does.

I only laid here in his bed since I could barely walk from all of the bruises he made on me. Is Levi ever going to come back? No stop it. This is what you've gotten yourself into, and this is what I will have to face. But whenever I talk to myself like this, it only makes me feel worse than before. I wanted Levi back. So bad.

A knock on the door occurred, and I always hoped it was Levi coming to save me. It was a ridiculous thing to think about, but it did make me feel a little better. Instead of Levi, it was Erwin again.

"Hanji." He says through the door. He walks through the door with a straight face. When he walks in expressionless, you'll never know what he'll do. I close my eyes as if I thought he was going to disappear, but that would never happen.
