Chapter 11

Featherfrost cowered against a tree cornered, good as dead. A dog watched her, mouth grinning, eyes glittering, teeth razor sharp.

''Shadowwhisper!'' Featherfrost yowled. Maybe she hasn't gone too far, she might hear my yowls. ''Shadowwhisper!''

She shut her eyes, giving up hope, she felt her body go limp. The dog barked in triumph. She felt the dogs jaws close around her body. This is the end.

Shadowwhisper ran towards her sister's yowls. Miststar had protested, saying, that there was nothing. But Shadowwhisper knew different. She picked up speed running towards her sister's cries. Her heart stopped, she skidded to a halt, her sister's yowls had ceased leaving only a deathly silence, that chilled her heart.

Please no.....please.....

She continued running, desperately hoping that Featherfrost was alive. Shadowwhisper bursts into the twolegplace, eyes scanning the area, her eyes lock onto the limp body of Featherfrost lifeless and bleeding. A giant grey dog, stands there tongue lolling, eyes glinting.

I will make that dog wish he never lived.

Shadowwhisper lunged toward the dog, all the anger and fury pulsing inside of her, she raked her claws down the dogs side, drawing blood. The dog growled at her bearing immense fangs. She ducked under the dogs massive body and sunk her claws into the dogs stomach. The dog howled in pain, with her newfound sense of hearing she could hear the dog's ragged breath, it's increased heart rate. The dog's thoughts entered her head, the dog's panic and fear overwhelmed her, she couldn't put up with it, the pain and fear the dog was feeling was too much, she was snapped back to reality, she leaned forward and sunk her claws into the dog's throat.

The dog whined and trembled. She dug her claw's deeper. Blood spurted from the wound, covering Shadowwhisper's fur. The dog looked at Shadowwhisper, eyes filled with panic. Shadowwhisper pulled her claws out. The dog looked at her one last time, then fell into eternal darkness.

Shadowwhisper stepped backwards, slowly. What have I done?

She reasoned with herself the dog, killed my sister! Featherfrost! She ran towards her sister. She slumped beside her sister desperately hoping that there was a flicker of life.

Unmoving flank, lifeless eyes. NO! NO....No....no....it can't be! She nuzzled her sister's fur, seeking for warmth, there was only  the cold, the chill of death. A voice spoke from behind her.

''She is dead.'' Shadowwhisper looked at the speaker of the voice. Miststar stood there, head raised high. ''She is dead.''

''I heard you the first time...'' Shadowwhisper said, anger rising.

Miststar was silent.

Shadowwhisper turned her head back to her sister. She lowered her head, towards her sister. When an unsheathed paw at her throat stopped her.
