Kayla's P.O.V

I woke up and walked off to the bathroom. I almost didn't recognise myself in the mirror. I touch my hair and sigh. This is for Daniel, Kayla. Remember that!

I brush my teeth and washed my face. I then walked off to my closet and started looking through it. My computer than starts to ring. It was Jessica video calling me. I run over and answer it.

"Hey. Your hair looks lighter through the computer." She says. "Actual it is lighter. I like it better this way." I lied. I go back into the closet. "I liked your dark brown hair!" I hear Hayes. "Thanks guys but just because you say that doesn't mean I'm gonna change it back."

I put on my gray shirt with a black heart on it and black jeans. I then walk back out. "Are we done judging me?" I ask. "Sure!" Hayes says. "Meet up at the park before school?" I asked. "Of course, it's Thursday." Jessica says.

"Should we invite Daniel?" I asked. "Well, I don't know. This is kind of our thing." Jessica says. "But it was just me and Kayla's thing before you came. He's become a part of the group now." Hayes says. "Well, I mean, do you think he's ready to know our secret?" I asked. "Maybe..."

"I think we should wait until after this weekend cause me and Hayes are gonna be gone." I say. "Yeah, we can show him next week on Tuesday." Jessica says. "We should leave. I'll meet you outside." I tell Jessica and she nods. I then end the call.

I grab my backpack and run downstairs. "Hey. Emma got food." Nash says. "I gotta go. I know you want to eat it so go ahead. But if she asked I said it was so good and thanks."

Nash gives me a high five. "I taught you so much it's amazing!" He says. "Bye." I say with a laugh and give him a hug. I then run outdoor and Jessica was waiting for me.

"Come on. Hayes is waiting!" Jessica says and we run off.

Daniel's P.O.V

It was lunch time and Kayla's hair was even lighter than yesterday. I honestly like that dark brown hair. She was gorgeous just the way she was. "So what made you want to change your look?" I ask. "Yeah!" Hayes and Jessica basically yell.

"Just thought I looked better like this, that's all!" She says. "Well, I really liked your hair before, just saying." I say. "You did? But you said- uh, never mind." She says. I give her a confused look. "I'm gonna go, I'll see you guys later."

Kayla's P.O.V

Why would he say he likes girls with light hair if he liked my hair when it was darker? Ugh!! I walk off to my locker and Jake walks up to me. "Hey Kayla." He says. "Sup?" I say. "How are things with you and Daniel?" He asked. "Great! Why?" I ask.

"Well, I was uh, thinking if you guys aren't dating anymore, if you, uh, maybe wanted to go out sometime?" Jake says and I smile. Honestly that made my whole day. I like Daniel but I wanted to say yes anyway for some reason. But me and Daniel are still fake dating so I can't.

"I'm so sorry. I'm actually still with Daniel." I say. "Oh, okay then." He says. "But maybe we can hang out sometime, as friends." I tell him as I open my locker. "Yeah, sure." He says before walking off. I felt so bad!

It must of took him a lot of courage to ask me and I just turned him down. Why did I say no? It's not like Daniel is even giving me any hints if he likes me, cause I sure am. I touch my hair and groan. I grab my English book and slam my locker.

Why is life so freaking difficult?

Daniel's P.O.V

It's the end of the day and we were all about to leave. No one could find Kayla though. Wonder where she went. She probably left home early or something.

Kayla's been really different lately and I don't like it. I miss the old Kayla. She wears love and hearts, she dyed her hair lighter, she started dressing a bit girly but..... not too girly. Just like what I said in what I like about girls. Does this mean? Oh my god.

Does Kayla like me?

Kayla's P.O.V

I waited for my friends to leave so I could leave. I honestly didn't want to walk with them just so they can judge me again for changing myself. I then get a text from Daniel.

Hey Kay! Wanna know something else I like in girls?

That's a weird text. He must be getting my hints on that I like him. Oh my god, finally!

I text back and start walking home.

Daniel's P.O.V

"She doesn't like you." Jessica says. "We'll see." I say as I text her back.

I like when girls wear heels and have purse type book bags.

I show Hayes and Jess my text. "She's not gonna wear heels to school Daniel!" Hayes says. "And if she does?" I say. "Then I guess we've been holding you back for no reason." Jessica tells me.

Kayla might actually like me...
