3: You Have Me

Kayla's P.O.V

Everyone just left my house. We weren't quite done with my room yet but we got the mattress on the board set thing so I'm all good. I was now a lone in my big house. I sit on the couch and start to cry.

I'm all alone and so unhappy. Daniel left because he had to have dinner with his mom. My Mon doesn't even call to check on me. How did these people end up with such amazing parents?

I mean I'm sure mom and dad think they love me but you can't love someone you don't know. And I promise you, they don't know me.

I have everything I want with the money they have but I'm so unhappy. I rather be poor and happy then wealthy and sad.

I wipe away my tears and just go to sleep in my new bed.

The next morning I woke up with my eyes burning. I walk to the bathroom and see that my eyes are all red and puffy.

I sigh as I strip from my clothes and jump in the shower. I took a nice hot shower. Got my mind off things. I then got dressed into a nit cropped black and grey sweater and some black jeans. I throw on a matching pair of sneaks and curl my hair.

I swipe mascara over my eyes and put on clear lip gloss. I'm not really a jewelry wearer but I put some earnings and a spikey bracelet.

I then turn my head and see the necklace. The necklace Hayes and Jessica got me for my birthday last year.

-Flashback-

"A key necklace?" I say with a smile. "Yeah." Jessica says. "To let you know you will always have the key to our hearts." Hayes says.

I smile really big as Hayes put it on me. "Guys, I love it so much." I say and hug them both. "Don't ever forget that Kay. Your parents may forget but we never do." Jessica says. I feel tears form in my eyes as she says that.

"Aw, don't cry!" Jessica says. "How could I not?" I say and hug them once more.

-End Of Flashback-

I smile and then remember... Today's moms day off. That means Mommy and Kay Kay day!! Yay!! I put my glasses on because I didn't feel like wearing contacts today.

"Kayla!" I hear from downstairs and run down. "I'm here." I say. "Uhm, this is my attempt to make breakfast." Mom says handing a plate. "I think I'll just eat an Apple."

Mom nods and Jessica walks in. "Jamie?" Jessica says. "Guess who doesn't have work today and is spending the day with me?" I say and Jessica smiles.

I throw her an Apple and grab my backpack. "I'll be home at 2:15." I tell her. "I'll be right here." Mom replies. Me and Jessica walk out and she hugs me. "I'm so happy for you Kay." She says.

"I'm still unhappy." I say. "Why?" She asked.

"One day isn't just gonna make my whole life better. I miss my mother. I'm only 14 I have 4 more years of unhappiness before I can leave." I answer. "Well don't forget that we don't forget!" Jessica says and she points to the necklace.

"I just really wish the wood wouldn't be so plain and someone would make a fire." I explain. "You'll find someone that can make that fire. You might even already found them."

"Yeah, your right." She puts her arm around me and we walk the rest of the way. We got there early as usual and I saw Hayes sitting on bench. Jessica walked up to him and I walked inside. I wasn't wearing a hat but I left my penny board in my locker. I'm still obviously gonna get into some type of trouble.

I open my locker and I feel someone tap my shoulder which scared me so I jumped. I turn around to see a laughing Daniel. "That's not funny. What?" I say.

"I was wondering if you, Jessica, and Hayes wanted to go an arcade later." Daniel says as Hayes walks up to us. "Yeah we'll be there!" Hayes says. "Well, they'll be there."

"What? Your not coming?" Daniel says. "I would so love to but I can't. Today I'm gonna be hanging out with my mom." I say.

Daniels P.O.V

Hanging out with her mom? That doesn't sound like a baddie girl image to save to me. But I mean it's her mom. Everyone could use some time with their mom.

I was kinda bummed out though. I really wanted it to be all 4 of us. "Sorry Daniel. Maybe we can all do something tomorrow, or maybe me and you can just hang out." She tells me.

"Yeah, okay." I say with a smile. We all then walk off to 1st period.

It was the end of the day and I was stood a little after school. The principle was telling about the rules and guide lines and blah blah blah.

I only stood after for about 10 minutes. Wasn't too long. I then started to walk home but decided to walk through the street Kayla and Jessica live.

I don't know why I wanted to, I just did. I was walking with my headphones in when I look to my right and see Kayla crying on her porch. I walk up the steps and sit next to her.

"Hey, you okay?" I ask. "Yeah. I just hurt myself." She says standing up. She quickly swipes away some tears as I stand up. "How'd you hurt yourself?" I ask.

"By actually thinking that my mom was gonna stay away from work to be wit me." She says and starts crying again. I take off my book bag and put my arms around Kayla.

She hugs me back and she just cries. After about 15 minutes of that Kayla sat me down on the bench swing on her porch. She told me about how her parents are never home and how she's sad and lonely.

"Your not lonely, you have Jessica and Hayes." I reply and she shakes her head. "You have me."

Kayla's P.O.V

"You have me." Daniel said and I looked at him. There was something about him that was so different from Hayes and Jessica. He made me happier then what they could do.

Isn't that weird?
