Daniel's P.O.V

It's Monday. It felt like the rest of the week flew right by. School time....yay. I run downstairs and walk into the kitchen. Dad was cooking, that's good sign. Well not such a good sign, he can't cook. "You can't cook." I say.

"Thinking out loud again son." Dad says and I look at him. "Nope." I say and he laughs. I like him like this. He's himself.

"Can I get a beer?" He asked. "No." I say with a laugh. "Come on Dan." He says. "I don't think your boss would appreciate you drinking before work." I tell him and he smiles. "But-"I cut him off. "Gotta get to school. Love you, bye." I say before running out the door.

I meet up with my friends and my girl. We then walk to school. "Roof." I say as the bell rings. "Woof back to you too. Why are we being dogs?" Hayes asked. "No. Roof." I say pointing up.

"What about class?" Kayla asked. "Just come on." I say. We all run upstairs to the roof. "Why roof? What's going on Dan?" Jessica asked.

"I want to finally tell you guys something that is sad." I say. "We're listening." Hayes says.

Kayla's P.O.V

We we're walking around. We snuck out school cause after Daniel told us about how his dog died, no one wanted to be at school.

We went to the tree house, park, and snuck into my house at some point.

We walked to Daniel's house cause, well no one was home. His parents are at work, Rebecca is at school, and Jack I think had plans with his girlfriend, I don't remember. So we decided Daniel's was the best place to hide out.

We all went up to Daniel's room and he went straight on his computer.

I put my book bag down and sat in his lap. "What are doing?" I ask. "Checking YouTube. I like looking at the comments people leave me." He says. I just smiled and looked at the screen.

He logged in and all that and then went to his channel. "Oh my god!" I say. "Does that say 10,000?" Daniel practically yelled. "Yeah!" Jessica says as I get off his lap. He looks at me and hugs me tight. He then opens one arm and Jessica joins the hug.

Hayes then walks in. "I got chips with- What happened?" He asked. "I got 10,000 subscribers!" Daniel says as we pull apart. "My best friend is becoming famous!" Hayes says and they hug.

"I'm so proud of you!" I say. "We all are!" I add. Daniel looks back at his computer and just smiles. "New motto guys." Daniel says. "What's that?" Jessica asked. "Believe. Achieve. Succeed." Daniel says.

"Bas." Hayes says. We all then laugh. "I like it. Bas." I say. "The first part of bas is believe. Remember that Kay." Hayes says and I look at him. "I know."

I wake up with Hayes's head on my stomach. I turn to look at Daniel but he wasn't there. "Dan." I say sitting up, causing Hayes to move. "Over here." He says. "What are you doing over there?" I ask. "Just reading the comments."

"You've read them like 30 times." I say. "There's some bad comments. What if I'm not good enough?" He asked me. I walk over to him and click the off button. "Who cares what they think? There's more people out there that like you."

"The B in bas stands for Believe. So maybe I should start believing." He says and I smile. "That's my boy." I kiss him and then pull him back to his bed. "Now can we finish our nap before your brother or someone comes home."

He nods and we lay down. Hayes picked up his head and looked at us. He put his head back on stomach and I laughed. I then looked at Daniel and he kissed me. I was laying on one of his arms and his other arm was around me.

I really like this kid. The feeling he gives me, I hope it never goes away.

All roads aren't straight. But through those bumps that you come across means getting even closer to the straight path.
