Chapter 24: Rome pt2

Stefan's POV

We drive to the airport, go through the whole process to park the car in the garage and take out both of our suitcases. "Thank you." Elena says pushing her suitcase on the wheels. "Of course." I say leaning down and gently pressing a kiss on her lips. I grab my suitcase and we walk into the airport. "Alright so it looks like we're in gate 2 B." "Well shall we?" I ask. "Yup!" I grab one of her hands, while her other one pulls her suitcase. The gate was pretty far from where we are standing, which I enjoy. I love walking with Elena, talking to her and just glorifying in the presence that she chose me. "Alright here we are. We have about 30 minutes until we have to board the flight. Should we go get something to eat or anything?" Elena asks me. "How about this, you wait here and I'll go get some of our favorite human food." I say kissing her cheek. "Ok, and you have money?" "Yes, I do my love." Elena smiles and sits down with our bags. I walk over to where a small touristy shop is and grab Elena's favorite food, from when she was a human, which consisted of a lot of chocolate. I grab a ton of it, the Starbucks glass coffee drinks, some water and some of Elena's favorite magazines. I go up to the cashier, pay for my stuff and walk back over to where Elena sits, seeming to be texting everyone. "Hey." "Hi." "You texting people?" "Yeah, Aunt Jenna and Jeremy just telling them how long we'll be gone and stuff." 'Well speaking of stuff, I got ours." I hand Elena the bag and watch her go through it. "Aw baby! Chocolate, magazines and coffee! Thank you!" Elena says kissing my cheek. She puts all of the stuff back in the bag and  wrap my arms around her and I put her in my lap. "Come on, lets look at the magazines." I say reaching for the magazines. "Are you sure, they don't seem to interest you." Elena say, her chocolate brown eyes staring into my green ones. "True, but they interest you and you interest me." I say giving her multiple kisses on the cheek. "I reach down and grab one of the magazines. She opens it up and explains who every one is to me. It was a little boring but watching the one you love talk about something that interest them and watching their eyes is a beautiful thing. We hear a person announce that the flight is now boarding. Elena and I grab our carry-on and board the flight.  Elena and I find our seats and get all cozy. "Alright everybody we have an eight hour flight ahead of us, so get comfortable! enjoy the flight and let us know if we can make this flight more enjoyable in anyway!" The flight attendant walks away and we prepare for the long flight ahead of us. Elena cuddles up next to me and I call over a cheery flight attendant. "Yes sr, how can I help you?" "Yes can I get a blanket?" "Of course that'll be just a moment." I wait until I'm brought a navy blue fuzzy blanket still wrapped in plastic. I carefully open the bag trying not to disturb Elena. I open the bag and drape the blanket over us. "Stefan I have super hearing I can hear you opening a bag but thanks for trying to be quiet." Elena whispers with a slight giggle at the end. "Sorry baby. Go back to sleep. I'll look at the map." "Okay." She softly mumbles as a yawn escapes her lips and she drifted back off to sleep. I pull out the map and look at where the cure is located. Hopefully we'll be able to find it easily. I'd like for us to have a nice vacation in Rome. "Attention passengers please prepare for landing. After the flight attendant's loud announcement Elena's eyes begin to flutter open. "What's going on?" She asks her voice still sounding sleepy. "We're preparing for landing." I say rubbing her back. "We are?" She suddenly becomes wide awake. "Yes baby." She perks up and sits against her seat. It takes about 5 minutes before the plane actually begins to start heading for the ground. "Stefan look out the window!" Elena remakes excitedly. I lean over her shoulder looking out at the view. She was right, it was gorgeous. There was a mountain plane right in front of the plane. "I think that's where the cure is buried." I whisper pointing over the the mountains." "Really?" "That's what it looked like on the map." I remark not able to take my eyes off of the view. Soon we feel the plane hit the ground. We wait and wait until everything is ready for us to leave the plane. "So what's first on the agenda love?" I ask Elena as she grabs her carry on. "We are going to the hotel first and then maybe dinner and sleeping. The hunt for the cure can start tomorrow." She says smiling. "And I'm guessing you booked the best hotel?" I ask Elena knowing she did. "Of course!" She says walking off of the plane. After grabbing our luggage we make our way out the street and I grab us a tax. Elena gives the driver the address. We sit in silence in the cab, peaceful silence. The cab driver pulls up the our hotel. It was beautiful. Elena did pick the most beautiful hotel in Rome. I tip the driver while Elena gets our bags from the trunk. We walk in the hotel and check in. Once we reach our room both of our breathes were taken away. There was a bed in the center with maroon paint and a black dresser. In the next room there was a black couch in the center with a black table with a flat screen tv on top of it. The bathroom had a shower and a bath tub with white subway tiles and two sinks. "This is even better than the pictures!" Elena exclaimed. We begin to un pack our luggage and put them in the drawers. "So tonight, what are you thinking go out and get dressed up, or stay in and watch tv?"She asks taking her eyes off of her clothes. "How about we stay in, eat a ton of junk food, talk and watch your favorite tv show?" I say rubbing her back. "That sounds perfect." Elena says softly kissing my lips. "Consider it our first date in Rome." I say.
