Chapter 20: Second chance

Elena's POV

I wake up in my own bed, Stefan went back to his house and we are back to pretending like nothing is going on between us and that we're just friends. It's my date with Damon today. He went out of town for a few days, said he needed to get some fresh air. I'm supposed to meet him at 1 o'clock at the boarding house. I roll over to the other side of my bed and see that it's already 11 o'clock. I lug myself and start to walk into the bathroom to run my shower. When I get a text. It's from Stefan.

From Stefan<3: Hey baby. Sad I don't get to see you today. But I'll see you Monday at school. Xoxo Stefan.

To Stefan<3: Hey baby. I miss you sooooo much! Never thought I would be looking forward to a Monday! Xoxo Elena.

I put my phone down on the bathroom counter and hop into the shower, letting the hot water run down my back convincing myself that I was doing the correct thing. Once I was finished with my shower I went into my closet and decided to pick out black jeans, a grey long sleeve button up shirt, white converse and I throw on my black leather jacket. I brush through my pin straight hair, put on light make up and drive to the boarding house. I knock twice on the enormous door and to my surprise Stefan answers it. "Oh hey Elena." "Hey Stefan." I say trying to contain my smile. "Is Damon here?" I ask stepping inside. "Yeah. He'll be down in a minute." And sure he was running down the steps slipping on his jacket. "Elena, darling right on time." He says kissing my cheek. "I wouldn't miss it." I say replying with a fake smile. "Well shall we go?" "Yup. It was nice to see you again Stefan." I say turning my head towards him as Damon and I intertwined our hands. We decided to walk to the destination that Damon still wouldn't tell me about. Damon tells me about his travels. He went down to Miami. "The small town of Mystic Falls was starting to make me sick. I would of just left and moved to Miami if it was for you." Damon says facing me. "Here we are." "We arrive at a spot in the woods, covered in yellow lilies. I look forward just a bit and see a silver table with two meals cooked and I looked up just a little more and see lights twisted around a tree. "Damon, wow this is beautiful. I didn't expect this." I say surprised looking at him.  "I'm glad, now come on lets eat. I want to learn more about you and connect with you." Damon guides me over to the table and we talk. Really talk, it got to the point, where I wasn't faking to have a good time with him.

Caroline's POV

I wake up in my bed thinking about Klaus and I's date last night. Yeah sure he is really hot and the accent is gorgeous but, he kept asking about Stefan and Elena last night. I roll over to where Klaus was sleeping and shake him awake. "Yes my love?" "Last night, it was great and all but, you kept asking about Stefan and Elena. Why?" "Well my dear Caroline, I need their blood, Stefan has met me. I know their both vampires, as our you and I know that they are also doppelgangers. Caroline, you are a powerful vampire but, be confident with who you are and stop letting men get in the way, because now I have all of the information I need to kill Stefan and Elena." And with that he left. He's going to kill Stefan and Elena and it's all because of me. That ass! I decide to get ready and look really good today.

Elena's POV
When the date was drawing to an end, it began to rain hard. We run to my house and before I run up to my porch. "Elena wait." Damon says grabbing my hand. "Yes?" He grabs my waist and kisses me aggressively. I run in my house smiling. I know what I have to do.

Stefan's POV
I was in my room deciding to do school work when I get a text from Elena.
From Elena😍: hey. Can you come over?
To Elena😍: Consider me there.
I vamp speed over to Elena's house and she answers the door immediately. "Hey. Come up to my room." She says walking up the stairs into her room. She sits on her bed and pats a spot infront of her. I sit down concerned. "Elena, is something wrong?" "I went on a date with Damon, and we ran to the front of my house because of the ran. Before I went inside he kissed me, and Stefan, I felt something. I love him, Stefan." She says. I couldn't take it, not anymore. I ran out of her run slamming the front door. I had to go somewhere, I had to burry the pain some how. I run to Caroline's house. I knock on the door, my blood thristy veins running threw my eyes. "Stefan, what the hell are you doing here? You can't eat me, I'm a vampire." Once she finishes I grab her waist and kiss her, I pick her up by th butt and slam her into the wall. I let go to catch my breath. "Sorry, you're with Klaus." I say appoligeticly, feeling bad. "No, I'm not but, we'll talk about that later." She grabs my face and kisses me, as we resume from where we left off. Carrying her into her bedroom.

Elena's POV

I felt bad, I felt like I just pulled out his heart and stabbed it a hundred times. He hates me, he will always hate me and forever hate me. I decided to call Damon before going to bed. "Hey Damon." "Hey baby, what's up?" "Nothing, it's just the homecoming dacne is in two weeks,and..." "Yes, I will go with you?" "Yay! Ok, I'm tired. Love you, good night." "Love you two good night." I turn off my phone and fall asleep.

Stefan's POV

I wake up in Caroline's bed without one once of guilt. Maybe this was the right thing, Caroline and I, we could end up being pretty cute together. "Hey, wake up." I say kissing Caroline's cheek. Caroline's eyes slowly open, and a big smile appeare on her face. "So, what are we?" She asks. "Caroline, will you be my girlfriend?" I ask kissing her hand? "Yes!" She gets on top of me and kisses my face. Yeah this felt good, this is the right thing. "So what do you want to do today?" She asks rolling back over to her side. "Just hangout. It's Monday tomorrow so relax today." "Okay."
