Alphas Book One: The Finding

Ten

Sky moves my head away from my arm, waking me up. "We're here." Joan says to us before opening the door. A smile came across her face as we stepped out of the car.

"I see you got into the weapons after we left." She says. Zander nods. "Well would do you expect? We are children after all." He says with a smirk.

Joan rolls her eyes and starts to walk towards a house. The house's exterior looks magnificent; windows everywhere, geometrically correct, everything about the house is just amazing.

I look at the house in awe. Jones hands me a bag with clothes and a ID. "Welcome to your new home." He hits me in my arm.

"This place looks so cool!" Sky says. As we approach the door, two guards step out. The president walks out with a regular white suit on.

His hair looks slick, unlike to his beard which is puffy and very small. "Good morning kids." His voice sounds soft and calm. I look down at my watch which is next to the titanium band on my right arm.

2:30 am. I think to myself. "President O'nell, it's nice to meet you." Sky says trying not to scream while she shakes his hand. Zander was next and was nervous.

He reaches for my hand. I put mine out and firmly grasp his hand, forgetting about my super strength. i almost break his hand. "You got quite a grip son." President O'nell lets go of my hand. I could see Jade, Selina, Liz, Scott, and Nate inside on the couch, watching a movie.

"Ready to meet your team?" He asks us. We all nod and the guards open the door. They look at us with smiles on their faces. The biggest one stands up before walking over to us.

He is the same height as me and Zander, and we're six foot three. "So these are Max, Zander and Skylarr?" He says. "Yes Nate, they are." President O'nell says.

Nate smiles at Sky before rustling his ginger hair. He was just like the guys from school. "Nathan Linger." Nate shakes my hand.

"Hey can I see your staff?" Asks one of the girls. This girl is beautiful. Nice, long, black hair, hazel eyes, freckles, and an hourglass figure.

Jones sees me staring at the girl and leans towards me. "That is Jade. She's your age." He says. I hand Jade my staff.

"Thanks." She sets it on the floor. The staff starts to bend inward as Jade clinches her fist. "Metal manipulation." Zander says with an entertained tone.

As she starts to bend it back to normal, the shorter but more muscular guy Scott hugs us. He has to have super strength because it felt like my life as being crushed out of my body.

"I'm Scott. It's nice to see you'll be an addition to our team. Have you guys came up with names yet?" Scott asks us. Sky seems starstruck. "Yeah. I' Endro Pulse, Zander is Splozo, and Sky is Electress." I say.

"Well I'm Charger, Jade is Metalhead, Nate is Phantom, Selina is Spector, and Liz is Absorber."  They all raise their hands as Scott calls them.

Selina stands up. She walks over to the president and gives him a big hug. "Have a good day, dad." She says before flipping her hair away from her face.

So the president's daughter is an Alpha? Selina quickly turns to me. I am Max. She's telepathic. Liz rolls her sleeves on her jacket up.

Her nose is pierced, eyelids are pierced, a tattoo on her left forearm of a compass and seems very gothic. She is wearing all black with a don't judge hoodie on.

Liz stares at Zander. He suddenly grabs his temple in pain. "Arghh!" Zander falls to the ground. Nate turns to Liz and lifts her from her seat without touching her.

He uses a chain to drag her to the ground. "You just don't learn do you?" President O'nell asks Liz. She just stares at him like she did Zander.

"Get her out of here!" O'nell demands. The guards waltz over to Liz before taking her into a room. The president turns to us.

"Elizabeth doesn't play well with others." He says. Zander's eyebrows go upward. "I can see." He says sarcastically. Selina kisses her father on the cheek.

"We have to go so unpack and we'll talk tonight. Jones, Joan, you may leave the premises." They both nod as they walk out in front of the president.

The guards walkout from the room after the president. Scott closes the door; his arms fold. "Let's head to the downstairs. That's where we keep the beds." He says.

As we follow Nate, Jade and Selina, Scott stops halfway on the stairs. "What's the hold up?" Jade asks with her cute, girly voice. "Selina, show them the recreation warper."

Whatever that thing is, it has to be massive. Selina pulls a stair back, revealing a keypad. She types in four numbers, 5931 and the wall opens.

Holy crap. I think to myself. Crazy huh? Selina asks. Nate walks in before anyone else. In his hand is concentrated light inside of his hand.

The light lit up the whole room. "Recreation Warp Machine, on!" Scott's voice echoes through the room. Moments later, lights start to turn on.

The machine looks like a old antitank gun without the barrel. It shines brighter than the sun as I run my finger across it. Sky stays behind Nate, seeming a little scared.

"What does it do?" Zander asks Scott. "It's a creation machine which means it can make anything we need here." Scott replies.

He hops in to the seat and starts to press buttons. Just then, a laser shoots from the front, hitting the floor. Smoke fills the room. After the smoke clears, an apple sits right in front of the machine.

Jade walks over and picks it up, taking a bite out of it. "Pretty good." She says. Scott hops down from the machine. He lets us walk out before closing the door/wall.

The quarters downstairs look fantastic. The beds are connected, tv's are in front of each bed and the shower is not very far from us! Nate and Selina hop onto two beds next to each other and turn on the TVs and put in their headphones.

"Goodnight. See you guys in the morning." Scott says before closing the door to his own desperate room. Jade and I stay right next to each other.

She looks over before smiling at me. "Night, Max." Jade suggestively says. "Goodnight." We a then fall fast asleep.
