Alphas Book One: The Finding

Eighteen

We walk into the academy, ready to set the bombs on the pillars holding up the building. "Alright we have twenty minuets to get this done so let's not waste any time. Move out!" I scream to the team.

Zander, Skylarr, and Selina go for the first two in the front while Scott, Nate, Jade, and myself go for the last three in the back.

Scott blasts open the door leading downstairs. Him and I run down the hall with our weapons in hand, my staff and his spear. Suddenly the alarm starts to go off.

"The hell? Why are the damn alarms going off?!" Scotts yells at me. I come to a screeching halt.

"You hear that?" I ask him with one finger up. "Yeah I hear the alarm!" He replies. "No idiot! That thud." Dung. Dung. Dung. Dung crash!

Scott and I both turn around to see a wave of Omegas coming towards us. We both look at each other.

I get in a fighting stance. Scott mimics the stance and twirls his spear in his hand. I bond with the metal floor, making my skin metal.

"This is gonna hurt me more than its gonna hurt you." I say. The Omegas stop halfway down the hall.

I look eye-to-eye with the tallest and biggest one of them all. "You don't want this to happen." He says, creating a pair of rock-gloves.

"Oh," I place my staff on the floor and let electricity surround my hands. "I do." We run at each other and begin to fight.

The guy throws a punch, missing my body but hitting the wall. I Warp behind him and grab the guy by the arms. Holding him in the air, I make a bolt of electricity, putting it through is chest, killing him.

"Who's next?" I joke. Bret walks out from behind. He bursts into a blue hellfire form. "Oh you've got to be kidding." I summon pure energy around my biceps and triceps, ready to fight.

Bret and I met eye-to-eye. "I've been waiting for this for a very long time." He says.

As Bret runs towards me, I hurl a ball of pure energy at his face, hitting him. I start to walk over to him.

"Get up!" I yell before punching him repeatedly. Energy builds around my fist with every hit until my hands turn to solid energy.

Throwing one more punch, I feel a bolt of lightning hit me on the side. I fall next to Bret, grimacing.

Scott is hit with the same lightning from the same person. "Zen." I say, barely moving my lips.

Zen stands tall over me with his left foot on my chest. He arcs lightning in between his fingers. "I want my powers back!" He tries to absorb my force.

"No Zen don't-" yells a woman standing in the hall with a black dress on. But it was too late. Suddenly, a black energy/electricity intertwined with Zen's.

"He's made his own! Impossible!" Zen yells. I start to absorb his force. My body shuts down. I feel my heartbeat start to slow. "He's dead."

Within seconds, what seems as the same force used by Zen and myself bonds with my body. I'm literally pure electrical energy.

I raise my hands into the air, making a fist. Lightning shoots from the sky into the building. The bolts hit Zen in the back as he runs away.

"Where are you going? We're just getting started!" I yell at him. He is once again hit by a lightning bolt and passed out.

I turn around with my translucent skin glowing brighter and brighter as I got closer to the woman. Pointing at her, a energy-rope wraps around her and brings her to me.

"Your name is?" I say with my electrical-like voice. "Fern. Fern Brand." Fern says. She holds out her hands with two hard drives in each hand.

"Take these." I look at her with a confused look. "What is this?" I ask. "You'll know soon enough. Now go before Zen gets up!"

I look over at Scott. "Let's go." We both leave after setting the bombs.

Twenty minutes later........

Skylarr and the rest of us start to fly away as the bombs go off behind us. Scott and I look back. "Holy crap." Sky says as my skin starts to return to its tan color.

"Well," Scott says. "I guess we can go back to our normal lives." We all stare at him.

The nine of us land on the road leading into the city. "We're going back to the house." Just then a rocket shoots into the sky.

I look over to it. "Max! It's your family!" Liz and Nate yell. Rocketing to them, I charge all my energy into my fist and fly even faster.

All of my emotions start to flow through my mind. Happiness. Fear. Love. Hate. Anger. Sadness. I channel those emotions into one single top of the rope around my parents and sister. I grab them, passing them to the team on the ground.

"Who is that?" Asks my sister Trina. "My boyfriend." Skylarr creates a giant cloud over me filled with lightning.

Thank you. I think to myself. Draining all the electrical energy from the cloud, I turn back into the other form.

I begin to bombard the rocket with punches as each and every panel starts to fly off, revealing Zayn. Zayn takes his hands away from the keyboard I front of him.

"Coincidence right?" He says with a scared tone. I shake my head and grab him by the collar of his t-shirt. "No." I kick Zayn into space, killing him.

I float to the bottom of the rocket, grabbing it and draining it. Knowing this just makes me stronger, I take all of the energy.

"What are you going to do with the rocket?" Scott screams. I turn towards him. "It's going to meet it creator in space!" Within moments I hurl the rocket into space.

I land on the ground in three seconds with a loud boom behind me. Looking back, I see that the explosion is close enough and it bombards us with radiation.

Being knocked unconscious, we all wake up in a room filled with gadgets.
