I landed in midair and had to flap frantically to keep from plummeting to the ground below. I safely landed on the second level and turned in time to see a group of human men advancing on the kneeling Loki. Good, he'd gotten through well enough, but even my throwing him into the Bifrost couldn't wipe that annoying smirk off his face.Ah well, I'd just have to keep trying.

I saw the humans watch him confused but the only ones who did anything were the men with the guns advancing on Loki. I debated on whether or not to help him; I decided not. He was supposed to be a bad ass god; he could handle these humans on his own.

Loki slowly rose to his feet, still grinning. He moved his eyes around the room, taking in all the weapons pointed at him.

The African American man with the eye patch spoke. I recognized his voice as the authoritative quality. "Sir, please put down the spear."

Loki looked at him, then proceeded to fire a bolt of energy towards the man with the eye patch. I watched as another man, with sandy blonde hair, jumped in front of the eye patch man and pulled him out of the way. The humans with guns open fired on Loki who, apparently, was bullet proof. Sometimes it would be nice of people actually told me things. I could use a bullet-proof servant. I may seem invincible, but I'm only half as powerful as a Valkyrie and whatever my father calls his race.

Loki flew with an inhuman speed and landed on one of the gun toting guards, who he stabbed in the chest. The remaining three guards were firing at Loki and I decided I should help a little; didn't want him to get killed within the first hour of the mission. Plus, I was bored and needed something to do.

I flung out my black obsidian throwing knives lazily and they landed neatly in the necks of a few gunman. They gagged on their own blood and dropped to the floor dead.

Loki shot a blast of energy towards a pathetic looking blonde woman in a lab coat, then he proceeded to use the scepter to slice a man in half who happened to be standing too close. Loki didn't even move to attack the ones with the guns first. He fought like a wild animal, trying to take out as many enemies as possible but he was going about it all wrong.

The previous commander of the Chitari had refused to retire until he had gone over millions of military strategies with me until he thought I was ready to take over. It had been four years of just strategic planning. Of course there was other training on top of that, but imagine being stuck in a library with an old Chitari warrior listening to him go on and on about battle after battle for hour upon hour. It gets to be excessively boring very fast. On the plus side, I did learn everything not to do in a war. I might have to share some of those lessons with Loki.

The rest of the men in the compound all had guns drawn and they were firing at Loki but they didn't have the machine guns the other guards did, and handguns do not do as good of a job. However, the man at the front of the party managed to get a shot off that flew right next to Loki's face. I'm still not sure if it ever hit him, but after that he looked seriously pissed. Finally, that arrogant smirk was gone; it only took being grazed by a bullet to make it happen. I saved that piece of information for a later time. You never know when things like that are going to come in handy.

Loki shot another energy blast at the center of the group of men and it missed practically all of them. I started to worry that he might be using too much of his scepter's energy too quickly. It only had a limited number of uses and I wasn't sure how close to the limit he was. I got ready to fly down and kick some ass and I turned back in time to see another man go flying it the cement wall courtesy of Loki. Loki reeled around ready for a fight but no one else attacked him. That took less time than I was expecting. I was mildly impressed by the speed of the whole thing, but I could have done it in half the time it took the god. I surveyed the room and saw that most of the guards were lying dazed, unconscious, wounded, or dead on the floor. Sparks were flying around the room from the machines that Loki had demolished and some smoke was beginning to rise off the ground where a small fire had started.
