The god watched me coming, only to spin around and storm off in the opposite direction once I got close enough to talk to him. I huffed and followed him deeper into the museum. He stalked up the stairs at the back of the room and my heels clicked loudly as I chased after him.

"Loki wait, please hold on a minute. Would you slow down? For Odin's sake stop and listen to me." I called.

The god didn't answer.

I kept chasing him, fearing that he would abandon our original plan in favor of something more reckless thanks to my dance number. If that happened, there was a good chance that it would fail and my father would be sure to hear about that failure. I couldn't allow that to happen. If I failed this mission because of a mere human, my father, the Other, and all of the soldiers would never forgive me.

Loki finally stopped once we entered the Norse exhibition wing. He faced away from me, arms folded behind his back, staring into a glass case with metal decorations hanging on hooks.

"Loki what's going on? Why wouldn't you listen to me?" I panted, trying to catch my breath.

"Was it worth it?"his voice reminded me of the ice of the frost giants he came from.

"What are you talking about? What are you so mad about?"

"You blew our cover. You let that lowly human dance with you when I told you that you were here as my companion. You say that I don't follow orders, little warrior, yet you're the one running around playing with any human who expresses an interest in you." He turned to face me. "Yet you ignore the clear signs in front of you. So tell me what you were thinking just now?"

"I was thinking my companion abandoned me and didn't bother to come back for me. Where the Hel did you go anyway? I looked all around for you. Hernando was simply a distraction until you returned. I assumed you'd want me to blend in here and if I had been the only one not dancing, it would have made me stand out more."

"Did you enjoy it?"

"Why does that even matter? It's over and nothing's going to happen so will you drop it already? We're here for a mission. We should focus on that."

I turned to go back to the party, but Loki teleported in front of me. I tried to move around him, but he grabbed my wrist and wouldn't let go.

"Release me now Loki, you won't get another warning. Let go of my hand or you'll lose it."

He pulled me closer to him. "I'm displeased with your attitude. For your information, I was thinking of the mission. While you were getting cozy with that pathetic human, I was allowing myself to be seen on cameras so that S.H.I.E.L.D. could find us."

"You could have told me that's where you were going," I muttered.

"Well you could have told me that you wanted to dance. I'd have been more than happy to oblige you." He pulled me closer to his chest.

"Loki what are you doing?" squirmed in his grasp.

"Hush." He whispered. "I've wanted to try this since I laid eyes on you."

I froze as he leaned even closer to me. I could feel his cold breath against my cheek. I snapped my eyes shut and struggled to free myself from his iron grip. A cold pair of lips pressed gently onto my cheek. I was so surprised that I stopped struggling. Loki's lips moved from my cheek over to my own lips. I gasped and he froze before pushing harder with his lips.

I couldn't move, my body wouldn't listen while my brain screamed at it to move away or do something to get away from him. Then another part of my brain registered that I liked the sensation of having Loki's soft lips against my own. The second that thought crossed my mind, I jerked back from the pale perfect lips.

Loki stumbled forward in my absence. His eyes flew open and he steadied himself. He glared at me. "What's the matter?"

"You, you. That shouldn't have happened. That didn't happen. This can't happen," I gestured at both of us.

"What's wrong with you? Why can't we do this? There's nothing wrong with this," He leaned closer and we locked lips again.

My heart rate sped up and I forgot the wrongness of the situation for a second as I lost myself in the feeling of Loki's lips. When my brain registered our interaction, I yanked away and whipped my hand across his face. "Stop it. Don't you get that this is wrong? We can't happen, it would never work. My fa- king would never allow it. You're my subordinate. it's wrong."

Loki frowned and backed away from me. "Why wouldn't your king approve? It seems to me that you're an adult, or I'd presume you are, so what's the matter? Don't tell me you didn't feel anything just now."

I bit my lip. I couldn't deny that he was certainly attractive, but I shouldn't be thinking this way. I was the freaking commander of Thanos' army, not some lovesick fool in a fairy tale.  There was too much at stake here on Earth. We couldn't be dancing off into the sunset together.

Loki stepped further back. He nodded when he realized that I wasn't going to answer. "Fine, forget this ever happened deny that you felt anything just now. I'm done trying to persuade you otherwise. You say you don't feel anything, but darling you're talking to the god of lies. I know how you truly feel. Deny it to me all you want but we both know that you're fooling yourself." He spun around, his cape nearly smacking me in the face, and stormed towards the door.
