just realized na halos si Alyssa parati ang pinapahirapan sa stories ko awww poor baby, si Den nanaman para fair >:)

depinisyon: BOSES. Tinig. Tinig mong naririnig ko bago ako matulog at sa paggising ko. Tinig mong namimiss ko dahil hindi mo na ako tinatawagan. Iba na.

Den sighs as she looks up from her textbook. She's been studying for almost 4 hours straight for an anatomy quiz they were having tomorrow, and needless to say, she was dead tired.

Den looks up from her book, she buries her head in her hands, trying to recall what she was just reading a minute ago. Usually, when her studies were taking a toll on her, she'd have two other friends in her dorm to release her stress with. but now, as she looks around the dimly lit room, all she could hear was silence.

Dennise looks at her phone, her hand unconsciously hovering over Alyssa's contact. Matagal na niya hindi narinig ang boses nito. Sobrang miss niya na nga eh. Med school has been taking over her life as soon as she started and she barely has time to talk to Alyssa, nor any one of her teammates for that matter.

fuck it She thinks as she presses the call button. Alyssa's phone rings. Once, twice, before she finally answers.

"Hello?" She says in her usual cute voice and Den couldn't help but laugh in happiness.

"Sino to?" the caller asks again in confusion.

oo nga pala, she changed her number so hindi na siya naka register sa phone ni Alyssa.

"umm, Hi Ly!" she says with as much fake joy that she could muster.

there was silence on the other end, but after a few seconds of connecting the dots, Alyssa finally recognized the voice on the other end.

"Den! how are you?"

god she missed that voice so much. it was the perfect blend of childlike innocence and kindness. Alyssa's always been the human embodiment of that.

"dying here as we speak."

Alyssa laughs.

"kaya mo yan! we believe in you, alam mo yun."

"alam ko naman."

silence.

"so bat napatawag ka?"

Den doesn't want to lie so she doesn't.

"namiss kita."

"cute mo. but seriously, what's the problem."

"so you don't believe me when I say I missed you?" den asks, a pout forming on her lips.

"i believe you." alyssa chuckles, sensing that Den was frowning. "but i'm sure you're calling me at 2 am for another reason."

"wala lang. namiss nga kita eh."

"at 2 am?" Ly says uncertainly.

"well yeah, nakakamiss ka kasi. "

"I could have been asleep by now you know."

"but you still answered anyway."

Alyssa sighs. "tama ka, but you know i could never resist you."

Den's face reddens. damnit alyssa bat ganyan ka.

"bola nanaman. "

"I'm just messing with you."

more silence.

"what are you doing at napatawag ka ng ganitong oras?" Alyssa asks curiously.

"Studying as usual, sobrang hirap dito Ly."

"Dapat sila ang nahihirapan sayo! The great Dennise Lazaro kaya ang nasa school nila, you should be the one giving them a hard time."

"Sana nga ganun pero hindi eh." Den laughs to lighten the mood. "how's everyone? miss ko na kayo ni besh Ella. Being in a dorm just isn't the same without you guys."

"aweeee Den di ka na,an tsokolate pero bakit sobrang sweet mo? okay naman, Mich is fun as a roommate, tawa lang kami ng tawa dito, not as much as when you and Ella were here, but i'll manage."

"pasimple ka nga eh, sure ako namiss mo na rin kami."

"konte lang." Alyssa jokes.

"rude."

"you love me anyway." Ly teases.

"i love you anyway." den agrees.

"Ly? sino yan? It's late na ah."

"-in a minute Lau." Ly replies, holding the phone away from her ear.

"nandiyan si Lau? ano yan? sleepover?" Den laughs, when in reality it was breaking her heart.

onga pala, hindi na pala kami.

"wag ka nga diyan, we made a project together tapos ginabihan kami so pinatulog ko na dito. And wag ka ngang bastos Ella is in the same room as us."

"oo na, I believe you. Tulog ka na doon baka magseselos yun."

"sige I will. kill it out there doktora."

"Always Ly, Always. Love you."

there was silence on the other end. Alyssa was hesitating.

"oh sige, goodnight. Study well po."

and the line goes dead.
