check-up

and because maraming ganap and den saw my question sa livestream, i decided to write this one shot. this is inspired by something na nabasa ko to sa ust files and lets just say affected talaga ako HAHA.

"there's something wrong with Michelle ata." alyssa says in concern as she watches her daughter sleeping on the bed. Her fever had returned once again, and for the last three days, alyssa had been sitting near her bed, never moving unless she had to fetch her food or give her sponge baths.

"Babe, dala mo nalang kaya siya sa ospital? Hahabol lang ako I swear, i just need to submit my project proposal sa boss ko." Kiefer replies, looking at his daughter and frowning.

"Sige sure." alyssa says as kiefer carries a sleeping michelle from the bed and puts her in the front seat of their car, alyssa follows, sitting on the driver's seat.

kiefer knocks on her side of the window, flashing her a grin. "i'll meet you at the hospital later, promise."

alyssa nods before starting the car and driving off.

"nako, pano to." alyssa scratches her head, michelle's normal pediatrician was apparently away for a seminar, and now she was stuck carrying a full grown 5 year old in her arms. no problem sana to kung nandito si kiefer since he was much stronger than her, but she could feel her arms starting to give under her weight since she'd been carrying her for quite some time now. tired and concerned, alyssa decides to enter the first pedia office she could find.

after a couple of minutes' wait, their names were finally called, alyssa takes michelle in her arms again and steps inside.

the doctor was writing something on a sheet, she looks at the pair in her office and smiles, walking over to alyssa.

"oh kumusta na si baby girl?"

"tatlong araw na nilalagnat i'm starting to get concerned."

The doctor then asks her questions about michelle's condition, and after a few minutes, she was finally able to give her a diagnosis.

"normal lang naman ang fever niya, just a few days of bed rest and keep her hydrated. " she observes alyssa, looking at her face for a second. "and take it easy on yourself, parang pagod ka ata, let your husband do some of the work for a while." she chuckles, alyssa nods quietly before leaving.

"Babe! kamusta naman ang mitchy girl ko?" kiefer runs to the pair, taking michelle from alyssa's arms as he rocks her back and forth.

"fever lang po, nothing to worry about." the doctor says, putting her arms inside her lab coat.

"Denden?" kiefer says in shock, looking at her impressively. "aba lumevel up ka ah!"

"syempre, ako kaya to." den grins widely. alyssa looks at the two, and although it had been years, being with the two in the same room was still unnerving to her.

"so, i'll put michelle in the car, una na ako." kiefer pecks ly on the cheek before leaving.

"michelle?" den raises an eyebrow, smirking.

alyssa could feel her cheeks turn red, kahit asan na napunta yung mga mata niya basta hindi lang kay den.

"eh kasi-"

Dennise laughs out loud, slightly hitting alyssa playfully on the shoulder.

"chill Ly i'm just joking!"

alyssa sighs in relief. tama naman ang hinala ni den eh, she really did name her first born after her, first love niya eh. of course, dennise doesn't need to know that.

"girl pala ha? just like we always wanted." den says queitly, looking blankly at where kiefer had left.

"yeah, just like we always wanted." alyssa repeats sadly.

"drama natin, ang weird." dennise laughs, trying to break the tension. "if may kailangan ka, or if may questions ka you can always ask me Ly, nandito lang ako ha, parang wala naman tayong pinagsamahan." she smiles warmly.

alyssa doesn't say anything, just hugs her. "i'm happy for you den, pangarap mo to."

dennise smiles bitterly.

before alyssa could leave, she hugs dennise again, tighter this time, and whispers in her ear,

"sorry, hindi kita nahintay."
