a little something i wrote to make this book light haha napansin ko kasi most of my stories are heavy sa heart.based on the prompt: I met you at this gay conversion camp my parents forced me to go to and you are making the degaying process really fucking difficult for me
Dennise Lazaro wipes the sweat off her face as she drags her heavy maleta to the place she was going to call home for the next two months.
Gay Camp.
She didn't want to of course, but ever since her parents found her almost kissing a fellow schoolmate at the back of den's car, they didn't want to take any chances. Almost kissing a schoolmate would be fine if she went to a co-ed school like dlsz or csa, but den went to Miriam, which to everyone's knowledge is an all girls school.
"We'll have this little gay thing fixed in no time ija." Her mom had said on the day she was due to go. Den almot laughed at how naive and clueless her conservative parents were. If she didn't love them then she would have probably jumped out the window of the bus the first chance she got. She was doing the a favor by being here, atleast when she came back her parents would be satisfied and she could go on with her life. it was a win-win situation.
"Welcome camper! You seem lost, alam mo ba kung asan yung cabins?"
Dennise doesn't look up from her phone, the signal was reduced to a mere zero bars and she really had to report her current situation to her 2k plus twitter followers.
"no." Den walks forward, ignoring the girl who had just spoken as she walks around trying to find a signal. Alyssa raises her eyebrows in amusement as she watches the newbie. She knew that if Den had read the fliers that the camp intentionally blocked out cellular signal in order for them to focus more on the programs and less on their phones.
"Newbie! Di mo ba binasa yung email?" Alyssa yells. Den turns around, a confused look on her face.
"email? what email?
"the ones we send to you the week before?"
Den raises an eyebrow, confirming alyssa's suspicions that this new camper had either ignored the message or deleted it without reading it. Typical first-timer behavior.
"there's no signal here by the way."
"WHAT? THIS CAMP SUCKS GUSTO KO NANG UMUWI!" Den grumbles out loud before walking past alyssa, heading to the direction of the entrance.
"If you had read the email we sent you-"
Dennise stops, leaves her maleta and turns around and marches back to alyssa so that they were standing face to face.
"Listen here, I don't know who the hell you think you are pero stop acting like you run this place." Den shoves her pointy finger in alyssa's chest, the taller one doesn't even flinch.
Alyssa could only roll her eyes as she smirks at den who was atleast a couple of inches shorter than her. She could not believe this small girl even had the guts to think she could fight her with their height difference.
"I technically run this place. I'm a senior, a camp councilor if you will; and like it or not, you're stuck here. Really sorry about that. So, if wala ka nang concerns, the cabins are right there to your right, just follow the path. The grand assembly is later at nine so please put your things there na before then. See you." Alyssa smiles sarcastically before walking away.
