"I want loving arms. Loving arms that will never be out of reach." She finished.
"I don't know what I want.'' I said honestly. Those words having all the meaning in the world right now.
Lauren looked back at me with a reassuring smile, and placed a comforting hand on my leg closest to her, "You're a smart girl, you'll figure it out."
With those last words she got up to leave. Lauren had given me so much to think about and there was no doubt that I'd be thinking about it all night.
Just as she turned towards the door to leave, I grabbed her wrist to get her attention.
"No, Lauren wait." I said as I turned and dropped my legs off to the side of the bed so that Lauren was right on the side of me.
"I'm waiting." She said with a smile.
After a few seconds of silence, I returned her good nature with a smile. "Thanks for listening."
She came and stood right in front of me, and leaned down to place a soft kiss on my forehead. "I always will."
Just as she turned to walk away from me again, I grabbed her wrist one more time. This time I didn't say anything, I just looked up into her eyes and she did the same.
"Dinah, earlier, now, we shouldn't." she said.
"No, I know that I just told you about my ex. You're not him, its okay." I finished, sitting up a little straighter so that or faces were closer.
Lauren took a step so that her legs standing up were touching mine while I was still sitting on the bed. She ran one hand through my hair, her touch sending chills down my spine unexpectantly making me jump.
"You sure?"
"Positive."
With my given approval this time she placed a soft, innocent kiss on my lips. It felt like that kiss she was giving me was her way of trying to heal all of my old scars, and saying that she'd never give me new ones.
"Goodnight Dinah." She said, giving me one last peck.
"Wait! You're staying right?" I asked, desperately not wanting to be here alone.
She let out a small chuckle, "I'll be right on the couch."
I layed back down on my pillow. "Okay, night."
I watched her walk to my door and wait for me to get settled into bed. I picked up my little Simba off of the floor and pulled him into my chest. This made Lauren giggle a little, and I blushed with embarrassment. Finally she turned off the light and closed the door. I heard the TV come on and saw all the other lights in the apartment go off. I felt safe.

My phone rang the next day at around 11 and it was my mom. She was calling to tell me that the whole family was at the house and that she wanted me to stop by.
"Okay mom, I'll come. I just have to call Mani or Ally to bring me. My car is still in the drive way, you know? And I just got up."
"Your dad is on the way to pick you up. It's just family, I don't know why you dress up anyway. They've seen you 50 million times already DJ." She said
I sat up in my bed, realizing that Lauren was still here and probably on the couch.
"Dad's on his way?" I said in an anxious tone that caught my mother off guard.
"Yes," my mother responded slowly, "Dinah Jane Hansen, I know you don't have a boy there?" she said playfully.
"Of course not, do you not know who you are? I'd literally be scared for my life." I told her in all honesty. But for some reason I felt like them finding Lauren here would be worse.
