The rest of the night was spent attempting to comfort Normani. She hadn't told anybody but Ally about her current situation, and I could tell that she was stressing about it. I couldn't find it in me to turn her away when she needed me.
I let her stay in my apartment for the night so that she could get herself together for tomorrow. Everything about tonight was running through my mind while I took my shower.
I let the warm water run down my head first and then the rest of my body as I just stood there. In my thoughts there was Lauren. I wondered if she was really mad at me about earlier. The whole time Normani was crying to me about her and Kai, I hadn't received a text from her.
Turning off the water from the shower, I got out, got dressed and walked in the front to check on Normani.
She was gone.
"Normani?" I called. No answer. "Normani! Where are you?" I called through the house.
I walked into my room to go and get my phone so that I could call her. The last thing I needed was a drunk and pregnant Normani to be walking around the city at night.
"Normani." I said. It was more so to myself, as I saw the girl slumped over in my bed. She was sleeping so hard that if I didn't know any better, I'd have sworn that she was dead.
I picked my phone up from the dresser and saw that I had missed calls and text. 2 missed calls from Lauren along with a voice mail and a text message. I dialed my voicemail number and heard her voice on the other end.
"Look Dinah, I've called and texted you for the past hour. I don't want to be upset with you but you're really making it hard for me not to be pissed off. I know you left the party already, Taylor told me you were gone. I was calling to mostly check on Normani, but apparently you've gone missing too since you can't respond to me. Just call me back when you get this. Bye."
She sounded angry, and I didn't really know how to take it. I didn't fully understand her anger at the party, and the fact that she got so upset about me not answering her kind of annoyed me. It wasn't like we were together, and even if we were, I was just in the shower.
"Let me call her before she loses it." I said to myself as I picked up the phone to dial Lauren's number.
Just as I did I saw a phone call coming through, it was Tori. I looked at the screen for a while before deciding that I should answer it.
"Hey." Her voice said as soon as I picked up.
"Hey Tori."
"How is your friend? You left the party in a big mess and I wanted to check on you to make sure you were okay."
"Yeah, we're fine." I answered.
"Are you okay? You sound tired." She said.
I was. I had played in a game hours before, gone to a party, and found my drunken friend there that I brought home only to find out that she was pregnant by my cheating ex.
"I've had a couple of shit hours since the party." I replied honestly.
"You want to talk about it?" she asked.
"No, not really. It isn't really a phone conversation."
"Can I come over then?" she asked.
"It's midnight Tori."
"It's completely innocent, plus I understand that you and Lauren have a thing-"
"We don't have a thing." I interrupted. "Well, it's a thing but it isn't a thing." I said finally.
