Alden is aware that he turns heads most of the time. Although he considers himself lucky to have been endowed with good looks and above average intellect for he also excels in academics, these did not made him a big-headed person. Hi is won't to using these for his personal benefit and sometimes find it a disadvantage as this had put him in unlikely situations a countless of times.

Women usually threw themselves at him or do anything just to deserve his attention and their aggressiveness exasperates him generally. He often finds it difficult to be a gentlemen and not be offensive on occasions where someone obviously projects to him that she's a catch but what he really want at the moment is for that person to disappear from sight. Thus, those who do not know him personally, considers him a Casanova who enjoys being around women.

He is used to women stooping to anything possible for him to take notice of them and during college days, Leo was his most trusted accomplice to escape these ploys. To date however, he have had only three relationships which in his personal assessment were not serious ones for in all of those three relationships he had neither exerted too much effort in pursuing the ladies involved nor experienced the kind of emotions described by love gurus as signs of true love. Presently, he is committed to no one and is only seen in woman's company due to work related functions or occasion which could not be avoided.

His encounter with Meng had ignited a curiosity he could not fathom. At first he was surprised to find a total stranger in his friend's house. Then her facial expression when she turned around to face him, a blushing face showing a myriad of feelings which seemed like guilt, embarrassment, surprise and fear totally stunned him. And, he found it charming instead of funny when he noticed her bulging mouth with partly opened lips clearly showing a mouth full of un-chewed food.

He was amused further when she turned again and run for the comfort room where he heard her vomit something and after waiting for quite a time, she showed up with a face now burning red. And, without the bulging mouth and looking at her face now in its normal shape but very red, the redness now extending to her neck she projects a picture of angelic innocence.

Realizing that she may had really felt embarrassed to have been seen in such a situation he tried his best to be polite and expressed his regret for having entered the house unannounced and introduced himself. Her reaction to him was not what he expected though, moreover, when she assumed that he may be an impostor or an opportunist that may prey on her, he lost his cool and had not been able to refrain from retorting back negatively.

He was further fascinated when upon coming back with Leo that night, she was very distant and clearly showed no interest on him the whole night which is very unusual for, most woman about his age that he had meet acted otherwise. He could not sense any annoyance either as Meng had behaved properly towards him when needed but other than that there was never a display of attentiveness directed to him.

She had not shone either animosity or been apologetic to him from what had transpired between them this morning. That is, to Alden it is very evident that Meng does not give a damn to his existence and this is something alien to him.

Alden stayed until almost midnight talking with Leo, Theo and Bing, updating each other of developments and events that transpired in his absence. Meng excused herself right after dinner and stayed inside the room where she and Bing shared. Alden would have preferred to sleep over in the house as he is used to and not go home but out of hesitation for whatever Meng may think if he did so, he decided to leave despite the objections of his three buddies.
