Chasing an Angel

Everyone's eyes were on them when RJ fetched her at the end of her shift. They left the hotel with RJ's right arm placed possessively over her shoulder and, he was smiling pleasantly as they walked out of the hotel. This time, he drove her straight for home. He then called a restaurant and ordered food while Meng was changing into house clothes. When Meng came out of the room, RJ pulled her to sit beside him on the couch, took out a small box from his pocket and give it to her.

"Open it please."

The box revealed two identical gold chain couple ID bracelets. RJ took out the one for lady, and placed it on Meng's right arm. Then he stretched his own and extended it to Meng for her to do the same. When Meng inspected the bracelets, she found the A&M 7.16.15  inscriptions on the ID plate of each bracelets. Meng looked at RJ quizzically and he explained.

"Alden and Meng – July 16, 2015, the most unforgettable date in our lives. This was the exact date that I first laid eyes on you, the day we first meet and the day you captured my heart without me realizing it. I will be leaving at dawn tomorrow and our first month being together will be three days after so, I have to give you this in advance as we could not celebrate it together. I will be missing you again for weeks Love and I so much hate it."

He then circled his arms behind her back, let her leaned into him while he is leaning on the couch. He kept on kissing the top of her head and hugged her closer to him. Meng who has been so quiet by this time asked,

"What made you fall for me RJ?"

"Why did you ask that? And you are not addressing me again the right way. Do you really love me Meng?" RJ released his hold on her and turned her gently making them face each other while still seated on the couch."

Meng saw the pain reflected in RJ's eyes and she hugged him suddenly.

"I do, I really do. I just can't shake this fear that you might come into your senses and realize that I am not good enough for you. My office mates today had asked me the same question so, please answer it for me."

"When I first laid eyes on you, that bulging mouth, your blood red face and that very innocent look, just knocked me out of my sanity. I cannot shake you out of my mind, and you created chaos into what I though was a peaceful and contented life. Real love, needs no explanation nor seek for a logical reason, you can just feel it. Prior to meeting you, I never thought this kind of feeling really exist but your coming into my life showed me what real love is. I love you as you are and that's it."

"I love you too. You are my first, so please don't break my heart for I may not be able to stand the hurt."

"I love you more than you know Love and I would never desire to hurt you, remember that always."

This time they hugged each other tightly and RJ sought Meng's lips and they shared a long passionate kiss.

Bing was excited seeing the dining table overflowing with foods upon arriving from school.

"Wow parang fiesta, ano bang meron kuya RJ?"

"Pasalamat at celebration," answered RJ.

"For what occasion?"

"Pasalamat for your Ate Meng's coming into my life, and celebration for our first month's being together."

"So it's your first monthsary, congratulations to you both. Sana lagging ganito pag monthsary niyo. "

"Kahit hindi monthsary bunso, just promise to take good care of your Ate Meng while I'm not around."

"Siempre Ate ko yan but promise too, walang lokohan," and extended her right small finger to RJ who seized it too with his own little finger to zeal their agreement. Meng is amusedly watching them on the background.
