Chasing an Angel

Midway on Bing's breakfast their doorbell rang and since Theo is still in the bathroom, she rose up from the dining table to open the door.

"Good morning Bing, I brought you your favorite," and Alden smiling from ear to ear extended to her a plastic bag full of goodies.

Bing ignored the extended hand of Alden holding the plastic bag and instead called for Leo who is still in his bedroom.

"Kuya Leo me bisita po," she shouted out and returned to the dining room to finish eating her breakfast.

"What brought you here again?" asked the unsmiling Leo upon seeing Alden.

Alden put down the plastic bag on one of the couch and answered. " Brod I just want to ask if Meng had left something for me?"

"Wala siyang ibinigay sa akin at bakit sia magiiwan pa ng ng magpapaalala sa iyo?" replied Leo.

Bing overheard Alden's question through the open door dividing the eating place from the living room. It was then that she remembered the box entrusted to her by Meng to be given to Alden which she had totally forgotten had it not been for his inquiry now.  Bing run to her bedroom got the box hidden in the lowest part of her cabinet returned with it to the living room and unceremoniously handed it to Alden.

Alden accepted it and since it is very obvious that his presence spells so much discomfort in this house just said. "Thank you so much Bing, thank you Bro," and left.

He went straight to his room, hurriedly tore the box and spilled all the contents on top of his large bed.  He saw that it contained all the things he gave her since day 1 of their relationship until the last day of their being together.  He was wishing that Meng had left even a short note for him but found none.  He picked up the IPhone first, inserted its charger and connected it into an outlet. Opening it minutes later, he scanned the messages, and glowered when he saw the last message received.

"This is ridiculous, who the hell have the nerve to send this message from my own phone?"

What shocked him completely was the video that had broken Meng's heart into pieces. He was so enraged that he would like to wring the neck of the person responsible for it. There was no need to guess for he now has an idea if who was the one behind all these. He was so disgusted for he would never thought in all his life that the person he suspected would be capable of doing this.

Unlike Meng however who did not finish watching the video, he watched it repeatedly, studying all the details and angles that helped him form a conclusion on how it happened.

Alden was fuming mad. He never thought that the person he considered as one among his numerous trusted friends could resort to something callous such as this. He would make the person pay hard for this misdeed not only because it destroyed his relationship with Meng but mainly because it had caused Meng so much pain. And he would never forgive the culprit it the damaged created would not be restored.

"Kaya pala ganon kabilis niyang nagdesisyon at ganon katindi and galit nya sa akin. I understand too, Leo and Bing's reactions. I had failed in my promise to them that I won't cause her any heartache. And what is worst, I was not there to protect her or ease the pains when this happened."

"Love, I will make the person who caused you so much anguish pay for this. And, I promise not to let anything like this hurt you again." He uttered to himself.
