"Brie, Meng would you like to spend a weekend at Blue Bay?" asked Lolly referring to the five star resort complex located outside of Manila where she and Meng is working.
"Tinatanong pa ba yan? Kaya lang I'm presently out of budget," answered Brian.
"I'd love to very much. I feel in love with the place when I saw it but I can't also afford it yet. I had other priorities," remarked Meng.
"My treat."
"Ows! Your treat? But your birthday is on November yet and it's only September. Bongga ka day," echoed Meng, seconded by Brian.
"I have two gift certificates covering a two days stay for a room with full board meals accommodation. One is for a single room and the other for a twin room. Brie don ka sa single at kami ni Meng sa twin room."
Meng and Brian gawked at Lolly unbelievably. "Two days stay for a room with full board meals? We thought it is only a day tour package. Wow! Who is the generous patron of those GCs?"
"I just need a yes or no for your answers. If you don't want to, then I'll return these so that he could give these to those who are interested."
"Of course we want to. We are just wondering on the excessive kindness of your sponsor. Are you sure there's no pay-back for that? We don't' want you compromised just to make us happy," Brian said.
"You need not worry, this is legitimate and, you both know that I won't put any of us in an unlikely situation, just to be able to enjoy something."

Brian, Lolly and Meng are huddled together in the small cottage located at the far end of the beach. It is only nine in the morning and they arrived at the hotel an hour and a half ago by boarding the first trip of the hotel's guest shuttle. The president had declared Monday as a special non-working holiday hence, Lolly and Meng will be able to enjoy a two and a half days off for this weekend. After checking in, they rested for a while inside their rooms and then left after they agreed to spend their whole day frolicking on the beach.
They are all facing the sea watching the waves running towards the seashore when Lolly suddenly pulled Brian's hand and spoke.
"Brie, I forgot something in our hotel room and I need to get it. Please come with me."
Meng was about to stand up too but Lolly stopped her. "No Meng, I'll just bring Brian, please stay to man our cottage for someone will surely occupy this if we will all leave. It's a weekend and a holiday so throng of people will be coming in as the day progress and we will be forced to stay the whole day under umbrella shades at the beach open spaces when we are left with no cottage."
Left alone, Meng took out a pocket book from her knapsack and decided to read while waiting for their return. It was a little while later that she felt someone's presence and looked around to check. She was immobile and speechless when she identified the person standing just outside their open cottage who may had been watching her longer than she was aware of.
She instinctively raced towards the entrance to avoid him but Alden was quicker. He blocked the entrance, also serving as exit, leaving no leeway for her to escape. Meng rooted on the spot as he approached her, his intent look not leaving her for a second. Overpowered with so much emotions Alden took the remaining distance between them in just a few large strides and hugged her close to him. She tried to break free but she was no match for his strength. The deluge of mixed sentiments took over and she burst into tears. Alden hugged her tighter.
