Skylar's P.O.V
Time stopped, it felt as if nothing else mattered. I stared out of my old bedroom window and whipped the tears that were steaming down my face. "Skylar, the funeral is in 1 hour!" My mom shouted as she banged on my door, I grabbed my phone and checked my messages. No calls or texts from anyone asking where I am, my heart sunk as I realized that they're not worried. I've been gone for 2 days, do they not care I'm not there? Fresh tear filled my eyes as I look around the room seeing pictures of my brother and I, we're never going to be like that again. I haven't eaten since my mom told me of my older brothers death, he used to disappear for weeks at a time and suddenly show up out of the blue. We used to be close before he I went off to college, but once I got there he stopped contacting my parents and I. The police found him a few days ago in an abandoned house, apparently he overdosed on drugs. My mom and dad didn't take it as hard as I am, they got over it in the matter of hours, while I'm still here crying 2 days later. My phone suddenly starts buzzing like crazy, I grab it and see that Racheal is calling me. I hit ignore and hop off my bed no longer limping, I walk over to my dresser and grab some clothes, I then enter my bathroom to take a quick shower. I blow dry and put on some make-up, I throw my clothes on and walk out of my bathroom, I can't let my brothers death affect me. I grab my phone and stuff it in my jacket pocket and exit my bed room, I walk down the stairs and force myself to smile. My mom and dad are standing by the door arguing, I glare at them and walk out the front door. They both do the same and get in one of the many cars on the driveway, my dad and brother had an obsession for cars. The whole ride to the cemetery was silent, I spent the whole time talking myself out of crying. I have to be strong no matter what, I'll get through this.. I sit in the church staring at my brothers coffin, everyone has left except for me and my parents. My mom touches my shoulder and gets up, I get up with her and walk over to the coffin. "You're in a better place now, Brandon." I whisper and bit my lip trying to control my tears that blur my vision, I successfully stop them from falling and exit the church with my head hung low. "We're going out for a bit, want to come Skylar?" My dad asks, I shake my head and push the door open. I walk up the driveway and watch my parents drive away, I walk into the house and go straight to my dads hidden liquid cabinet. I pull it open and grab the first bottle I see, I take off my heals and hop up the stairs. Once I get to my room I open the bottle and drink until I fall asleep
