Prom Part 1

Kendra's POV

Prom's tonight and I was going alone . Nyla's going with Tyler . Someone she's been talking to for a few months. Asther was going with Morgan . He randomly asked her one day . He's cute so she made an exception .

All of us were car pooling to the hotel where the prom was being held.

It was now 7:30 pm and I was standing in front of my full length mirror . My dress came to my knees . It was baby blue and hugged my chest right and flowed down. I had my hair pinned up with some curls falling on the side of my face with rhinestones. To match it all up , I had some black stilettos.

The door bell rung and I heard voices talking. Asther and Nyla's here with the limo. Time for the best night of high school to start.

I gathered all my things and retreated down the stairs. I walked into the living room where i saw Ricky sitting and talking to my grandma.

Kendra- "Ricky?" I asked surprised. They both turned around. He had on a black suit with a baby blue tie.

Ricky- "hey Kendra." He said grinning.

Kendra- "Where's Asther, Nyla, and their dates?"

Ricky- "outside waiting for us. We should probably go." He then picked up a baby blue corsage.

Kendra- "I didn't know you were car pooling with us. I'm wearing the same color as your date. I hope she doesn't have the same dress."

Ricky- "oh, she does. She's gonna freak." Ricky had started dating this girl named Mara and he's going to prom with her. She's so snobby and want everything her way. I try to keep my distance from her as much as I can .

Kendra- "don't tell me she's going in the limo we're going to ." Ugh , If she was , I'd find another way there . That girl is so annoying .

Ricky- "I'm not going with her anymore" he said walking over to me.

Kendra- "good ." I muttered. "So who're you going with.

Ricky- "hopefully, you. Will you be my date to the prom?" he said , scrunching his face up . It took me by surprise. i smiled and nodded

Kendra- "of course."

Asther and Nyla came in right then . We all took group pictures , then pictures with our dates, and finally one by one. We were finally leaving the house by 8:00pm.

We were rising in a white, stretched, hummer limo. All six of us got in . I slid over to make room and Ricky sat next to me putting his arm around my waist.

Kendra- "so Ricky, please tell me you were lying when you said Mara had the same dress as me."

He smirked and nodded.

Ricky- "yeah, I was just going along with it. She doesn't have the same dress as you, don't worry" he chuckled. I let out a relieved breath and nodded.

Kendra - "good. What about the color of my dress, how did you know?" I asked gesturing to his tie and the corsage he put on my wrist.

Ricky- "some little birdies told me."

Kendra- "as in birdies, you mean nyla and Asther?"

He nodded.

Kendra- "of course. Well I'm glad to have you as my date ." He grinned and I gave him a hug.

We finally made it to the hotel. The banner was blue and white and said "starry night class of 2012" . The ballroom was dimmed with blue light and projections of white stars everywhere , with white tables. Tonight is going to be awesome, I just know it.
