"Do you know what our assignment is?"
I stopped walking fast.
"No," I said, sucking my teeth. "I forgot to ask."
I began walking back to the office when Chris stopped me. He had his hand on my arm, which made me look at it and then back at him.
"We just need to write something about Titanium. Like how he protects the town and how he looks dashingly handsome."
I raised an eyebrow.
"Are you gay?"
Chris looked shocked.
"What? No! I mean, he does look quite good in those tights, does he not?"
I shrugged. "He's alright."
"Ju-... Just alright?"
I eyed Chris. "...Yes."
We walked for a little while but then I stopped suddenly.
"I don't even know where to look for Titanium! He hides all day and then just pops out when trouble happens. It's as if he's psychic."
Chris snorted. "I doubt that. He probably has a radio transmission or something."
"I wish he was psychic. Then he would know we need photos of him!"
Suddenly, an explosion sounded to our right. Two masked guys came running out with guns in their hands and bags of money on their backs. I could tell it was money because there were money signs on the bag.
Typical.
I looked back at Chris, but he wasn't there. Gunshots were fired and people who weren't screaming before were screaming now. Then Titanium showed up. He jumped in front of the robbers who yelped and then ran the other way. Everyone was running away, except for me, since I wanted to get pictures of Titanium.
I should've run away, though, because although the robbers were running away from Titanium, they were running towards me. One of them grabbed me and twirled around, putting a gun against my head. The other one kept running. So much for being loyal.
"Fuck," I muttered.
Titanium eyed us up and looked at my face.
"Are you going to be getting caught in the middle of trouble all the time?"
I smiled sheepishly. "Just when people hold me hostage."
The barrel of the gun was pushed into my head more as the robber holding me said, "Hey! I got a gun on her and you're joking around?"
Titanium focused his attention on the robber and then I didn't feel the gun against my head anymore. I looked back to see the robber on the floor. When I turned back around, Titanium wasn't there and the police had just shown up. The police had rushed to get the robber and pushed me back, making me fall to the ground. Chris caught me and set me upright.
I hit him on the arm and glared at him.
"Did you seriously leave me alone? I could've been shot and you would've been hiding in a hole somewhere!"
"Are you okay now?" he asked.
I huffed. "Yes, no thanks to you. Titanium saved me."
"Again," Chris said.
"What do you mean again? You didn't see him save me the first time."
"Yeah I did. The stockroom has windows, ya know."
"Then why did you say you didn't see what happened when I asked everyone at the office?"
"I didn't. You asked if anyone had heard the commotion. You didn't ask if anyone saw it."
I rolled my eyes. "Awesome. Jerk."
"What's the matter? Thought you didn't want to work with a recluse?"
I rolled my eyes. “I don’t. Let’s just go back to the office, huh?”
Chris held out his arm in the direction of the office building and bowed a little. I huffed and knocked his arm down, walking away.
