I went home that day thinking about Chris’s muscles. It’s weird because you can’t see them with the shirts he wears.

When I came home, I saw I had a camera on the counter. I was thinking about how Hanson liked the article, when I realized something.

That camera isn’t mine.

That scared me enough. I walked through my house, holding the camera in my hand and a bat in the other. When I saw the pictures, I stopped in shock.

There were pictures of me sleeping. Then I saw a picture of a tape recorder under my bed. I rushed into my room, locking my balcony doors and checking my closet. I looked under my bed and saw the tape recorder. When I pressed play, the doors to my balcony started shaking. I jumped and screamed, seeing a dark outline.

Then the outline waved. I walked slowly over to the door and unlocked it, pushing it open and pointing the bat at whoever it was.

“Hold it, Victoria. I’m not here to hurt you.”

I sighed in relief. “Titanium, you scared the shit out of me.”

He stepped inside and smiled. “Sorry. You seem worried. What’s going on?”

I showed him the camera, but he didn’t seem fazed.

“So you take pictures of yourself when you sleep. Why are you showing me this?”

I breathed out. “Titanium, I didn’t take these photos.”

“So a… boyfriend took them.”

“Don’t have one.”

“Husband?”

“No. Now that you’ve finished asking indirectly if I’m with someone, I think I’m in trouble.”

Titanium still didn’t seem fazed. “Was there anything else left?”

I showed him the tape recorder. Suddenly, he threw it out of the doors, watching as it exploded. My jaw dropped.

“Wha…”

Titanium looked at me.

“How did you know that was going to happen?” I asked.

“Super hearing,” he said, pointing to his ear. “I could hear ticking. That was obviously planted there to kill you. I knew you wouldn’t be safe.”

“Yeah, I know. You said that a few days ago. Do you think Sardona did this?”

Titanium shook his head. “He’s been a villain too long to resort to tape recorder bombs. It might be Mist-a-Swirl, though.”

“That joke? He looked like a freakin’ cereal puff!”

“Don’t underestimate these villains. Most Seedy Heights villains are more dangerous than you expect, and take great offense when you insult them. They won't hesitate to hurt you just because you're a girl.”

“Oh… and I insulted him, didn’t I?”

Titanium nodded. “You’ll have to be more careful. If he got into your house once, he can get in again.”

“But I lock all the doors and windows before I go to sleep.”

Titanium laughed. “Vicki, this is a villain. And he’s super. Locks can’t keep him out.”

I scoffed. “They kept you out, superhero.”

Titanium scoffed back. “Please. I could’ve broken the door down just by flicking it.”

“Yeah, okay.”

A beeping sound started abruptly, causing me to jump. Titanium looked at his wrist and looked up at me.

“I’ve got to go. Hopefully Mist-a-Swirl won’t come back tonight, but put the camera back where you found it so he won’t think that you saw the pictures.”

“Okay. Bye Titanium.”

Right before leaping off of the balcony, Titanium looked back at me.

“You’re not getting rid of me that easily.” He stepped down from the railing and kissed me on the lips, disappearing quickly.

I stood there shocked.

“When did I give him permission to do that?”
