Do you still remember the first person who broke your heart?
Well, si Dale, hindi'ng hindi nya yun malilimutan. The person came unexpectedly and left so suddenly too.
Let's relive our first heartbreak as we go along Dale's journey to not only findi...
I spent the entire day searching up for clients online. But to no luck, none of them have responded yet. So I closed my laptop and tilted my head back.
Fuck, sumasakit na naman ang ulo ko. I really need this right now. If I don't, I won't have a reason to stay here. Ayokong bumalik ng Canada. I won't go back to that miserable life anymore. Kaya hindi ako dapat mawalan ng pag-asa.
Pag open ko ulit ng laptop ay tinignan ko ang oras. It's already 5:00pm.
I bet she's already home by now. I smiled at the thought of her. The only pure thing in my awful, chaotic world.
I unlocked my phone and saw a notif. My heart skipped a bit when I saw Dale uploaded a new story about an hour ago.

I kept replaying her story and can't help but notice the song she put in it. She may have not done it on purpose, maybe she just likes the song.. or the artist. I don't have to make a big deal about it right?
I mean , who am I to assume that it's for me?
But who cares if I'm confident that it's for me?
I replayed it again and again before leaving it a heart.
God, I want to see her.
Looking at my dry ass email inbox, I closed the laptop and dug the depths of my closet to find a decent shirt I could wear. Pwede na siguro tong sweatshirt ko.
Should I wear something on my head? or just leave it like that?
I looked at the mirror and tried on different ways I could style my hair. As if it's the most important thing to do right now.
I aimed my camera at the window infront of me where you can faintly see my reflection, and also the city lights from outside my condo.
I spent nearly 30 minutes finding a good song that will match what Dale put in her story. Only to end up not putting any song at all.
Instead, I just made a bold choice and left everything to God.

I realized the corny emoticons were too much but it's too late. A lot of people have already viewed my story. Maybe they were surprised seeing me posting myself on my socials now. Some of the viewers were from college, others were acquaintances from..you know, my dark phase when I was back in Canada. I remember some of them were people I met at a neighboring town when I used to sneak out at night and go out partying.
I frowned when my target hasn't viewed it yet. Is she busy during these hours? She's probably reading, knowing her.
I opened her story again and watch it's time run before swiping it back to view again.
Why do I want to stay here?
Is it because of her? What was wrong with me?
Of all the inconvenient things that could've happened during this short break, developing a stupid crush definitely ranked near the top.
Especially when it was her.
My best friend's younger sister. The worst part was that I couldn't even blame proximity anymore.
At first, that's what I told myself.
I was just bored.
Just lonely.
Just spending too much time around the same people.
But those excuses stopped working when I spent a whole night talking to her, and us knowing each other more.
Now, even when she wasn't around, somehow she still managed to occupy my thoughts.
Her laugh.
Her smile.
The way she looked at me whenever she thought I wasn't paying attention.
I squeezed my eyes shut.
This was ridiculous.I am expected to leave next month. Dad would make sure of that. What exactly was I supposed to say?
"Hey, Dad. I think I'm developing feelings for a girl in the Philippines, so I might need to rearrange my entire life."
Yeah.
That conversation would go over wonderfully.
I snorted to myself before the amusement quickly faded.
Because beneath all the sarcasm, there was an uncomfortable truth. No matter what I felt, the clock was still ticking. In a few weeks, I'd be thousands of miles away. And for some reason, that thought bothered me a lot more than it should have.
I heard my notification sound and a smile crept on my face.

This baby is going to ruin my life for sure.
And I would gladly watch my whole world burn down for her.
