"Please, you have got to explain to me how a two bedroom reservation made over two months ago, was accidentally given to someone else." I smile at the receptionist with a twitch under my eye. "I need to understand the process."
"Y/N, there's not much we can do.." My coworker says behind me.
"Yunho, we're meeting with clients tomorrow and everything is fucking booked!!" I say, obviously trying my best not to panic.
"I'm truly sorry, we have given you a full refund."
"Mhh.." I hum trying to keep my calm at the less than helpful comment considering they had been booked on company cards.
"Thank you!" He just says while pushing me out of the hotel as he sees my breaking point approaching. "Let's just go to a bar for now, or something."
I stay silent as we walk to the closest pocha we could find. He orders some food and drinks for us as I stare into nothing, which is looking very similar to my future.
"Nothing.."
"What was that?" He says looking up from the food that had just been dropped off.
"Nothing, no future.."
"Ok, I think you're being a little dramatic. I know it sucks, but there isn't much we can do now is there?"
"I know I'm a pessimistic person but.. you're way too optimistic.."
"I think that's why we work so well together~" He winks at me before putting a shot glass in my hand, clinging them together and taking it, all in 3 seconds. I blush slightly as I take mine and wince at the taste.
"I think I'm getting too old for soju."
"Has said literally no one ever?" He claps back right away as he gives me a second shot.
"Wow Yunho.. we have a client meeting tomorrow morning this is.."
"Y/N, I emailed them and rescheduled it."
"Wha— When?"
"On the way here, they actually answered pretty fast. They understood."
"That's.. sounds so unrealistic?" He gives me the second shot, clings his glass against mine and takes it just as fast as the first one. I follow him with once again a wince on my face.
"Now you wanna hear the fun part?" I look back at him, my chest burning from the shots.
"What?" Now I'm scared. I loved working with Yunho, but as much as I am predictable and play by the book. Yunho doesn't work this way at all. He had the ability to put me on edge all the time.
"They're on their—" Before he could finish his sentence. I see a familiar face right behind him, and a hand land on his shoulder.
"Yunho!! Y/N!! I'm sorry that you've been met with such unfortunate circumstances!"
"Ah.. Seonghwa??" My eyes widen. Our client..
"Seonghwa!! Thank you so much for meeting us on such short notice." Yunho immediately stands up to shake his hand. I sigh and roll my head back before standing up.
"Of course, of course, this is an important deal and there's no better way to sign, than over a couple of drinks, last minute." He laughs as he shakes my hand before we all sit back down.
Seonghwa was the CEO of a pharma start-up. We had been discussing a contract for us to integrate their payroll system. Probably one of our better potential client so far. Which made me feel a little bit more at ease. Yunho seemed completely comfortable as they start discussing business almost right away. Which is why we were such a good team. Yunho was a people person, and knew how to smooth talk our clients.I knew the system and technical aspect of our product like the back of my hand. We were like two puzzle pieces, fitting so perfectly together.
At the end of the night, we somehow had a verbal agreement to be signed tomorrow. With only me and Yunho left at the bar, we cling our beer glasses to the small win.
"Oh, my, god.. we did it!!" I say still in shock. "We were supposed to be sleeping by now, I would have been stressed out of my wits thinking about tomorrow's meeting, but we did it! Just now!!" Yunho had never seen such a big smile on my face. He gives me a bright smile back, he couldn't get enough of this.
"I had to use my superpowers. Can't do that all the time but I had a feeling with Seonghwa, that this could work~" He chuckles as he downs his glass trying to clear his mind, but maybe drinking more was not the best idea.
We both felt our warm cheeks radiate. I end up resting my head in the palm of my hand. Before I knew it, I was staring a little too much.
"We make such a great team wow.. I'm so glad you joined this company~" He looks at me slightly surprised.
I definitely was an honest person, but not so much on the emotional side. These type of words coming from me were not something Yunho was used to. He definitely did not dislike it one bit. Maybe he could get more out of me tonight.
"I'm glad I joined.." He says with a small smile.
For a very brief second I see it. It wasn't obvious. But it did happen. His eyes, going down to my lips, just for him to then rub the back of him neck. His ears becoming bright red. It had to be due to the alcohol, right?
Thinking back, my other teammate had mentioned one night, after another deal, that Yunho most likely had a crush on me. Something about the way he looks at me.. My eyes cross again with his and he ends up smiling. He takes the last bottle of beer and pours the rest in our glasses.
"I just realized this is our first time hanging out like that." He ends up saying in a lower voice than his usual cheerful one.
"Right~" I raise my head from the palm of my hand. "This is nice honestly. We should do this more often." I end up giggling without much control over my emotions anymore. Yunho smiles at my giddiness. Still getting used to seeing me like that.
"Be careful love, we still have a contract to sign tomorrow~" He says so naturally I almost didn't notice the sweet name.
"Yeah, which.. mhh" I try to compose my thoughts. "Are we gonna spend the whole night here?"
"Oh! Right I forgot to tell you. Seonghwa was able to find us a room in the hotel right by their office."
"What?"
"When you were in the bathroom, but.."
"But?" I'm now realizing that we had been drinking for the past hour together instead of going back.
"It's only one room."
"Ah." He smiles softly as my face burns up. The alcohol not helping, he can't help but to laugh lightly at my reaction.
