Broken Chapter 8

Maggie>>

Once I walked into the orphanage I new that my world was tumbling down. All because of me, Skyler’s family is in danger and possibly dead for all I know.

“Maggie, what’s the matter? Did things go terrible wrong with the ‘study’ session?”

“No Mary, we didn’t ‘study like that, we actually did study, and I think things are going to get a bit exciting around here.”

I dropped my head and walked into the kitchen where all the kids were having a baking lesson.

“Maggie, dear what’s the matter?”

“You know how I said my parents are dead, and that someone murdered them?”

Mary gave a swift nod.

“I met him today, his after Skyler’s family, his going to do the same thing he did to me, with Hayley, Skyler’s little sister.”

“Oh My God, where are they? They need to get away from them. Why are you here?”

“He wants to go save his family, but I have a feeling it’s to late.”

“Oh Maggie, nothing is to late, you need to go find him, and help him, you don’t want him to be taken away from you. Go find him.”

I nodded and ran out the door, I ran down streets not knowing where I was going, but it seemed that my feet had taken me to Skylers house, since here I was right in front of his doorstep.

I knocked on his door, but no answer. I twisted the handle to find it was open. My hand shock as I opened the door.

The house was a mess, coats everywhere and the furniture was turned upside down.

“Skyler?”

I walked into the kitchen to find a bigger mess, what the hell happened here?

I kept walking around and nothing, no one was here. I ran up to Skylers room to see that all his belongings are gone.

I searched around the furniture that was moved and thrown around, no signs no nothing. I was about to walk out the door when I saw a piece of paper sitting near the window, I raced over and grabbed it.

I opened it to see Skylers rushed handwriting.

Maggie,

If your reading this then that means that I have already left, we had to get out of this house.

Greg told Hayley everything you told me, and I can’t let what happened to you to happen with Hayley, so we left. I don’t know where were going but I’ll call you when were safe.

Please watch out, I don’t want you to get hurt, but I promise you, when were safe I’ll come back for you.

A tear rolled down my cheek as I read the letter, his gone, and its all my fault.

I ripped up the piece of paper and ran out the door. The coldness of the evening blew my hair out of my face.

How could I let this happen, I shouldn’t have met Skyler, all I have done is bring him pain.

But what was with the house being a mess?

Was it Greg?

I kept running until I was on the streets of town, people started giving me wired looks, as to say ‘crazy girl’, I wouldn’t blame them, I was crazy, crazy to run about 8 blocks from where I was from.
