22: Funeral

As Caroline sat in her car looking around. She wasn't looking forward for today. Since she stuck being seventeen. She looks around a bit sadden of the idea of being dead.

As she was thinking things. When There was a knock on her windshield, startling her.

"What the hell, Elek!" Caroline said as he started to laugh. He stood there holding flowers and a small wrap gift. She comes out of the car and looks at Elek. "who are these for?"

"For a gorgeous blond." Elek flirted "its her birthday."

Caroline gave a weak smile and he hands her the flowers as she takes it and smells it. Elek then hands her the small box.

"What is it?" Caroline asked him.

"Open it darling and you'll find out." Elek had a cheeky grin as Caroline unwraps her gift and opens the small box. There it had a red diamond hearted necklace, it was the size of a fifty cent coin.  (Like the picture above)

"Elek.." she mutter out looking amazed at the necklace. "its beautiful.. it must've cost a fortune!"

"Nothing I cannot afford, darling." Elek said with a smirk. Caroline looks back up at Elek who had an affectionate smile. "happy birthday, Caroline."

Caroline gives a warm smile to Elek and then in that moment Tyler approaches then both. Elek felt the annoyance in him seeing the presence of Tyler.

"Mate, you better screw off." Elek snap "or I won't hesitate to kill you."

Caroline place her hand on Elek's arm. Which cause Elek's stomach to flutter.

"Please, Elek." she begged. Elek sighed in frustration.

"Alright, but I am leaving can't stand to look at the unwanted mutt." Elek said annoyed. He then looks over to Caroline "have a splendid birthday, gorgeous" Elek said before leaving both of them alone. Elek heard Tyler's low growl which gave Elek satisfaction.

As Alayla enter the Caroline's home since Elena called her. She heads into the living room and sees Elena, Matt, Archelaus and Bonnie.

"Archelaus?" Alayla said confused "What are you doing here?"

"It's Care birthday!" Archelaus said cheerfully.

"Plus, your little brother is very enthusiastic." Matt explained "and he wanted to do this."

Alayla chuckled at them. She looks at four and seems surprise not to see Elek.

"Where's Elek?" Alayla asked confused

"He's with Caroline distracting her for a bit, and if you tell me she needs it." Bonnie told her.

"Ah, I see." Alayla said "so what do you need me for Elena?"

"Well to invite to the party!" Elena said approaching Alayla and putting a birthday hat on her head. "Caroline, likes hanging out with you. Since you guys have most classes together she grown close to you."

"Come on, Ali." Archelaus said as the rest of the teens look at her with hopeful faces.

"Well since I do not have anything better to do." Alayla said "I don't have anyone to torment I guess I could torment you all." She lets out a cheeky grin which causes them to smile.

As the rest of them went back what they were doing. Elena pulls Alayla to the side.

"I wanted to thank you for saving Jeremy's life it means a lot." Elena thanked her. Alayla nodded at her.
