Do you know what it feels like? To feel betrayed? To be betrayed? It sucks. One minute, you have them there. You have him there. It's all good and happy, you're all laughing.
Then the next, you're sitting at different tables across the room, different people at each, giving each other useless stares. His blue eyes pierce into yours from across the room, and you have to look down at your food. You weren't really listening to your best friend, Ashton, talking to you about some dumb cat dream he had last night. You heard your name and looked up at him.
"Yeah?"
"Were you even listening?" He chuckles.
"Yes?" You say more as a question. He giggles and turns to Tyler, his boyfriend, and asks him the same."Um, yes, of course I was listening babe." Tyler shoved a spoonful of mashed potatoes in his mouth.
Laura shouted to you from across the table, so you turned her way.
"What was that thing you were telling me the other day, about that guy you met online?" She asked. Just then, you felt stares all over you. People still thought you were dating him, but he has been ignoring you ever since last month. You got the hint, he obviously wanted to be end it, no longer a thing. The school just didn't catch on yet.
Ashton spoke up. "You never told us about a guy..." He accused you, but really you did.
"Hey, it's not my fault that all of your attention was set on sucking Oakley's face off when I was talking about him."
You took a drink of your chocolate milk and continued. "Plus, it doesn't exactly matter anyways. Grant's nothing. I don't even know his last name and he lives too far away."Just then you turn to look back at the table and saw his black lip ring between his teeth and his bright blue eyes, now the ocean color, staring intensely at you. It sent nervous feelings through your entire body, those damń butterflies, and you couldn't pull away.
Ashton noticed and looked to where you were staring, then turned to you. "Oh no, honey. You are not going to let him get to you again. Crying for weeks is bad enough. Don't let it happen again."
You still didn't tear away, nor did he, until a boy with bright green hair and eyes tapped your shoulder.
You looked up at him hovering over your shoulder."You're Y/N, right?" He asked. You hesitated, but nodded anyways. He grabbed a chair and sat right beside you, blocking your view of Luke. You could hear Calum's loud laughter from over there, and gave it all you could not to look over there.
"My name is Michael." He smiled. He tilted his chair back a bit and again you saw Luke giving you that stare. You wanted to storm over there and ask what his problem was, but instead you smiled at Michael.
"I was wondering, well, maybe, if-f you want, homecoming is coming up next and I heard you were single without a date, so I though maybe I'd ask you."
You thought about it in your head and turned to where Luke was once sitting. Michael was cute, and started fumbling with his fingers before continuing.
"Like as friends if you want, it doesn't have to be a date, although that'd be nice because I really like you and I think you're really pretty and was sort of asking it as a da-"
He was interrupted by a voice, which you knew quite well, and Michael looked up over your head. You turned around and just as you guessed, there stood Luke. Now he shows up, when you're just getting a date."Sorry to break it to you, but she already has a date." The whole table was quiet and staring at Luke, who appeared out of nowhere, and he grabs your wrist. He pulls you up and out of the cafeteria, out into the hallway, to an old, dark classroom and shuts the door behind you.
"What are you doing?" You yell at him as soon as he shuts it. He just stares at the door for a minute, not turning around to face you. He breathes, and you cross your arms over your chest irritatedly.
"You ignore me for a month and a half, then you barge in on me when I'm trying to get a date! What the fùck is your problem, Luke? Why do you constantly pry into my business, and then leave as soon a-"
As if anytime was better, he turns around and shuts you up by pushing you backwards into the wall, which shall I mention, is very far away from where you were standing.
His hot breath fanned your face, and you could smell his cologne. You both sat like that for what felt like several minutes, him biting his lip and staring at your lips. You knew what he was doing. He was teasing you. You wouldn't have it.
It took all you had trying to pry him off of you, pushing and moving, but you were trapped. He was too strong. His now deep blue eyes looked up into yours, and he leaned in in a rush. It all felt so forced, and you did nothing for a while. His lips moved but yours stayed still.
He pulled away and realized what he'd done, then backed up a bit. He touched his lips, as did you, and you felt like breaking down crying right then and there. If he didn't leave right then and there, your walls would tumble and you would end back up where you were the weekend he started ignoring you.
He started walking out, but turned back with ready eyes, and said "I'm sorry."
That's all it took. He turned around and reached for the doorknob, but you quickly grabbed his hands and pinned him against the wall and kissed him. You couldn't help it. He obviously kissed back, and instead of it being rushed like before, it was slower, as if it wasn't cliche enough, passionate. Both of your tears mixed together, and you pulled away panting for breath. You slid down to the floor, and he followed and pulled you into his chest. He apologized so many times, too many to count, and repeatedly kissed your hair. He promised to never hurt you again, and to explain everything and take you out on many dates and do whatever it takes to get you back.
After cleaning yourselves up and make it look like you weren't making out and crying together, you two snuck out, late for 7th period. You'd been in there for an hour and headed to your last class of the day.
After school, Calum came up and it was a bit awkward, considering he was another one who just abandoned you and rarely talked to you anymore, and the tension was obvious. You both spoke up at the same time, saying your sorries, but it didn't feel the same. You still felt the pang of hurt.
Even though they apologized, you both still sat at different tables, and only Luke was there during classes.
Luke was once again, your boyfriend, yet he wasn't taking you to homecoming because you wanted to go with Michael. Luke protested, but you plead that Michael asked first and you were still getting used to Luke being back. No matter what happened, things won't be the same.
Once someone betrays you, you lose trust. You lose the good memories that are now covered with dust. You feel almost nothing, and you want to sit in a corner and cry, especially when it's someone you love. You are left hurt. Not them. They aren't the same person, they are different. They betrayed you, and even though you will forgive, you'll never forget.
