Chapter 22:

3rd Person POV

It's been a year or two since the goths met Y/n, now Michael and Y/n entered middle school before Pete and Henrietta joined them. Thankfully, they didn't get separated as middle school was in the same building as the elementary school, so they were still able to be together. Over time, the group has gotten close with Y/n in their own way.

Henrietta and Y/n hang out the most, being the only girls in the group, where they do what girl friends usually do; but for goths. They have an interest in shopping for gothic fashion and decor, they enjoy swapping accessories and doing each other's makeup. Another thing they enjoy doing together is listening to music and going to concerts. One time, Brauhaus was playing for the last time and they were playing in South Park. Henrietta begged her parents to go to the concert, even going as far to doing chores, but her parents said no saying it was "too inappropriate for a young girl like herself". That was until Y/n showed her that she got tickets for the two of them, next thing you know, Henrietta snuck out of the house, and that night became one of her most memorable moments.

Pete and Y/n are on the calmer side of the chaotic bunch, they spend most of their time listening to podcasts and reading literature; mostly gothic or horror-related. They enjoy Stephen King's books the most. All the while trying different types of coffee around the world, the topic was brought up by Y/n when she mentioned how coffee was made in Vietnam and Pete thought it would be interesting to try different types of coffee made in other countries. When winter rolled around, it was the best moment to bundle up in blankets, with a nice fireplace lit with some candles around the living room, a nice hot cup of coffee and reading a nice piece of literature or audio. Perfect company at a time like that he enjoyed looking forward to.

Firkle, on the other hand, had an interesting way of bonding with Y/n. He had a strong interest in the art of weaponry and the history of gothic culture. For a young child, he was smart, smart enough to skip a grade. Unknown to Firkle, Y/n knows a lot about the cultures and history of goth, so it was easy to educate the boy. As for weaponry, she also knew about it, that she taught him every one of them. Y/n owned a plethora of weapons, so when she found out Firkle had a switchblade knife, she was excited to teach him how to use it. Afterwards, she introduced him to a number of weapons to teach him how to use. One thing she learned about Firkle was that his parents never let him do anything because he was too young and were very dismissive of it. Pretty much feeling neglected, seen only like decoration instead of their son. When he's with the group, he feels heard and understood, specifically Y/n, he viewed her as the older sister that he wanted. She was very supportive and listens to him whenever he voices his opinions. The closest he's been with her is when they are training to learn how to use a sword, not questioning why Y/n owns a sword, but at least he got his wish on how to use a sword.

Lastly, Michael, contrary to popular belief to the group, they were by far the closest in the group. They did almost everything together, always talking to each other, reading, working, and smoking. The whole school assumed they were dating, but like always "Goths don't love". Ever since the whole abandoned building incident happened, Michael felt the need to learn about the paranormal, spirits, and even the occult. To Y/n she answered, "I thought you never asked." She handed him books about all the things he mentioned. From there, they studied each book together and tested their knowledge whenever the group went to another haunted building. At first, Michael felt like learning about the occult stooped him down to vampire level, but Y/n assured him that those vamps didn't know what they were doing, saying that they were putting up a front to one up them. Aside from learning about the supernatural, they like roof sitting while they vent and smoke, they don't care what happened last time, and talk more about their past. They don't do much, just their company is enough.
