Korina's POV~Flashback~
Korina had turned the heat on the burner down, started cutting up potatoes, and cleaning the dishes when she got a call. "Hey Tuna, It's Katie; I just wanted you to know that I might get out early tonight." Korina smiled, throwing the rag down, "Really? That's awesome!" She smiled because Cassie was going to get out any minute; whether or not she would hang with them or her boyfriend was unknown. If she did come home they could hang out, maybe go to the movies after dinner. Korina smiled: she needed to hang out with her friends. Get her mind off other things.
"Alright I love you," Korina had said into the phone minutes later, ending the call and setting it down. She enjoyed cooking, and cleaning. It relaxed her, to a point. She swept the hallway and Katie's room and pushed Cassie's door open gingerly. "Ew," She said to herself; it smelt like sex. She swept the floor and sprayed fabreeze everywhere throughout the house and jumped into the shower.
Korina ran to the phone and picked it up as soon as the last ring, rang. "Hello!" She yelled. "Hello?" She asked again and swore under her breath. She set it down and went to her room, throwing on a pair of sweats and her favorite Black Veil Brides T-shirt. She went to the kitchen and sat at the island, semi watching the stove. She looked up from her book periodically, watching the food.
She was torn from another world once the sound of someone knocking on the door jumped into her head. She looked up from her book and slid off the stool, jogging to the door. She swung it open and her eyes went wide.
"Hello, is there a Katie Lynn here?" The accent made Korina blush, even if it wasn't her name leaving the lips. She shut the door in shock, and stared at the cracked wood. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and opened the door once again. "I'm sorry, is this a wrong time?" Korina blinked. "I'm sorry, who are you?" She knew, she just needed to make sure she wasn't going insane. "Oh, I-I'm sorry-" He generally looked surprised to hear that someone didn't know who he was. He stuck his hand out and Korina shook it nervously. "Hello, I'm Niall Horan." Korina took a deep breath, and dropped her hand to her side, "Yeah, yeah I thought so," She stepped back, thanking whatever was listening that she cleaned her house. "Come on in." Niall stepped forward and closed the door behind him, following Korina into the living room.
"I'm sorry that I just showed up. Uhm, I did call a while ago. However I was leaving town, I figure I might as well try." He said shrugging, almost shyly. Korina looked around, "Uhm, I'm confused. try what exactly?" Niall's eyes went wide, "Oh, of course. I'm from the band One-" Korina held up a hand, "I know who you are, why are you here?" His shoulders slumped, "I am looking for Katie, she put this address down. I assumed she lived here, is that not accurate?" Korina nodded, walking to the kitchen, "Yeah that's accurate, I'm just not sure why you'd care. I mean, do you usually show up at fans' homes?" Niall laughed, and Korina wanted to call Katie and tell her how nice it was. "Uh, no ma'am, Not usually," Korina lifted a brow at politeness, "What's so different?" Niall took a deep breath, "This," He said quietly and pulled out a crumpled, torn, and folded piece of paper. "Katie wrote me this letter, and I guess I just wanted-" He stopped, and looked up from the letter, staring at Korina.
He smiled, "I don't know what I was thinking." He said almost to himself. "If you wouldn't mind," He said, digging in his back pocket, taking out a envelope, "Giving this to her." Korina shrugged and took it out of his hands. "Sure thing," She said, "Now what?" He blushed, "To be completely honest," He looked around the kitchen, "I have no idea." He shoved his hands into his pockets and stepped towards the door, "Tell her I was here I suppose." Korina suddenly realized how pissed Katie would be if she hadn't gotten to see him, or at least talk to him. "Wait," She said, following him. "Why don't you call her?"
Niall blushed and shook his head, "No, I- I have to go soon, we're leaving." He said sadly. Korina nodded, "Taking a break, I know." Niall tilted his head, amusement behind his eyes, "You know a lot for someone who doesn't know us at all." Korina shrugged, "When you're around people are obsessed, you remember things." He laughed, nodding. "I suppose that's true." He said, smiling crookedly, soft heartedly. He made his way to the front door when Korina pulled him back urgently.
"When will you be back in town?" She asked. Niall shrugged, "I don't know, I mean technically I don't have to leave-" Korina shook him, "Than don't! Stay here for a while. Get to know Katie, she's great." He nodded, smiling, "I know she is... That's why I can't." Korina let him go, "What do you mean?" Niall shook his head, "Nevermind, it doesn't matter. Look, I might come back in a few days. Maybe, I don't know? Maybe I could take her out, get something to eat." Korina nodded, "Yeah... Yeah I think she'd love that."
His eyes lit and his posture straightened, "Great," He said excitedly, "That's great."
~~~
The door shut behind him, and Korina shut it softly and fell against it when it closed. "Holy, mother effing shit." She said to herself and ran to her room. She slammed the door closed and stripped out of the sweats and through on a pair of jeans. "Holy, mother effing shit." She said, and didn't stop. Over and over again the words spilled out. She grabbed her keys from the hook by her bedroom door and shoved her feet into her converse. "Holy, mother effing shit."
She slammed the front door and slid into her car, revving the engine. She sped out of the driveway and turned a hard right, heading to Katie's work. She didn't start honking until she realized she was headed to a main road. Her eyes went, instinctively, to the six foot chick in bright blue. She smiled and nearly hit the curb. "Katie!" She yelled, eyes wide and heart beating.
