Bailey introduced me to her other three friends. Riley, Gigi and Britt. They seemed nice and Britt is a huge makeup geek.
The starbucks we went to was in the mall so we had to walk around so we could find my mom's work. I've never been in this mall and they've never noticed an Ulta here so we walked around. I won't lie, we checked out sephora and I couldn't help but get three lipstick liners for ten dollars. After that Brian had to drag me out of there and then he went to an art shop where he got a new brush set I think. We had to drag him out of there too.
It was an hour before we found Ulta and my mom was there of course. When she saw me she ran up, gave me a bear hug and a few kisses on the forehead.
She looked at me to see if I was pale. I passed the inspection.
"How was your first day? I want to hear all the juicy details." She said
"Well I met some friends, and tge we went to space to have a laser fight with the president of Switzerland and then we went surfing on lava." I said sarcastically.
My mom rolled her eyes playfully. And laughed.
"No seriously, how was it." She said.
"There's a snob who hates my guts because of my cancer." I said.
"Why, what did she say to you." My mom said seriously.
I inhaled sharply, "She called my bald, and she told me just because I'm dying I shouldn't rely on so much attension."
"Don't forget she made practically everyone going to her side and taunt her." Britt said while chewing a stick of bubble gum.
"But she got a week of detention." Said Gigi.
"So much for a first impression." My mom said.
She sighed, "I'm sorry you had a rough day, I know the move has been hard." She said.
Oh no, not the speech. Anything but that.
"Honestly, the school serves buffalo wings everyday and you can choose how how many you want, I'll make it." I said.
Those were really good. I always have chicken wings from anywhere when I'm in the hospital. It's my favorite thing to eat, besides ice cream.
"You and your chicken wings." My mom said.
She looked at me and gave me a weak smile. I knew, in her gut. She must feel awful.
"I really like the school and that girl did get detention for a week." I said.
"I know. I'm sorry you had a bad day." She said.
"Who said I had a bad day? I met some people didn't I?" I asked.
She smiled, "at least your making it a positive. Anyways, I need your help with a client. She's getting ready for a dinner party and the look she wants is kind of a dooozy. I specialize in like, getting ready for an interview for a job, that kind of makup. I have the hair, I can handle that I just was wondering if you would like to do it." She said.
She pointed her thumb out to a girl. It was Tracey. Oh my god. An I was suppose to do her makeup?!
"Go get what you'll need I'll be watching." She said and with that she brought her over to the makeup chair.
I sped off like a bullet. Grabbing mascaras, brushes, pallets, foundations, primers. I looked like a mad women, running around.
I saw Bailey giving me this weird look and then she peeked over to see who my client was and her jaw practically hit floor.
Tracey turned around and her face almost turned purple with rage.
She tipped down her sunglasses so she could look at them normally.
"Oh, my god." She said.
I was setting up everything and laying them out in order. I was praying she wouldn't turn around I just moved like a deer seeing headlights I the road.
"I didn't know the geek squad hung out around here." She sneered.
I saw her phone by the cloth that had all the supplies I was going to use.
My eyes almost bursts out of my skull. Because right after that moment I saw her hand reach behind and grab it. I felt beady eyes on the back of my head.
"Oh no, not you." She said.
"Surprise my mom wanted me to do your makeup." I said.
"Oh please your not even a proffetional. Why can't your mom do it." She whinned.
"She doesn't specialize in part she's more formal." I said.
I was trying really hard to act proffetional and keep my cool.
"Whatever. Just do a good job." She said.
I grabbed an Urban Decay primer potion and squirter some into my index finger. And then ribbed both of my Pointer fingers together.
"Close your eyes, please." I said.
"Your not going to use your fingers. I'm not going to get sick." She said.
"Cancer isn't contagious." I told her.
She rolled her eyes and closed them as I evenly sprea the primer on both lids.
She puts her phone on her lap and takes in a deep breath.
I grabbed an urban decay naked pallet and used an elf eye shadow brush. Some time passed and she seemed to be getting impatient.
"You can't rush beauty." I said.
She growled at me a little.
I was so relieved when I had finished the last of the look.
"OK I'm done." I said.
I began packing my things. As o handed her a hand held mirror.
"I like it, thanks or whatever. This is probable the only thing your good at." She said.
She slid off the chair and sashayed to the cash register and paid for everything and then walked out.
I turned to see Brian was sitting in the other chair across from me.
"I'm next." He joked.
I rolled my eyes and laughed. I looked around for Bailey and the other three but they were to busy with the testers.
My mom came over. "Did she leave already?"
She seemed baffled.
"It's alright, she's not the patient type." I said.
Bailey came over with a bag with the Ulta logo on it.
"I should come here more often." She said.
I smiled, "anyone up for A&W?"
Before anyone made desisions I was dragged away to the food court...
