L Pov;

As she walks down the stairs, the lights immediately turn to her. I'm not surprised, she looks amazing. She looks dark and mysterious, but beautiful and graceful at the same time. What is this feeling I have going through my body.

Blood rushes to my cheecks. Am I blushing?! For the first time, I think I'm tempted by a girl. I'm glad it was her, Annie. Her hair as golden as a sparkly trophy.

She's wearing black converse underneath! I would probably do the same. Her eyes. Oh god her eyes. As blue as the deep blue ocean. Out of the crowd, she turns to me. I have a mask on, does she know it's me?

" Why was everyone staring at Matsuoka?" she asks

I laugh to her face

" They aren't staring at Matsuoka. They were staring at you, Annie" I answer her finally

I feel tempted to ask her to dance suddenly. But I don't think I have the courage to. Eating food is probably best for me.

" Excuse me, would you like to dance with me?" a person asks Annie behind me

I immediately turn around to se a dark brown haired boy, also wearing a black suit. But he doesn't have a red rose like I do.

" I was going to ask someone else to dance," she looks at me answering him

" But I would be happy to dance with you" she says with joy

I'm not quite sure if it's sarcasm or not. She keeps staring right back at me, or is that because she knows I'm staring?

I watch them dance the night away. Annie doesn't look too amazing at dancing, but the man she's dancing with makes sure she does. They are now surrounded with people watching them. I feel gutted that it's not me. I'd do anything to dance with her, but I'm too much of a coward to do that.

After the song ends, Annie hugs the man and she comes straight back to me.

" Geez! I'm awful at dancing! If I was in heels right now, I would be dead" she moans

" Nice converse!" I reply

" Thanks. Matsuoka gave me black and red heels, but no thanks" she says

I see her turn around towards the man she danced with. She blinks for a long time as she looks at him.

" I'm just gonna go to talk with that guy for a moment" she says, and walks staright to him without a care

Is he stealing my temptation?

Annie Pov;

I blink for 3 seconds once again towards the man I danced with moments ago. I try not to look so suspicious, that's why I don't do that in front of L, he could notice and take me away. But only if he knew how I could kill, which he doesn't.

I see that I can't read his mind! Is he the other person who possesses the shinigami eyes?!

I heard Ryuk laugh when the man asked me to dance, then when I blinked at him. He must have noticed I had the powers when I was talking to L, then asked me to dance to capture his attention.

" Well well! You finally found the one you were looking for this whole time" Ryuk laughs and follows me

I walk up to the mysterious man

" Excuse me again. What's your name?" he asks me before I could get a word out

" Annie, Annie Havé" I answer

" I'm Light Yagami" he informs me

I can't ask him if he has the shinigami eyes, what if he doesn't? Just because I can't read his mind doesn't mean he's the one. Ryuk might have been lying to me, I know he's never on my side.

" Shinigami" he gave me a code

I'm guessing he was being cautious aswell, but now I know I can trust him.

" So you're the other one. My shinigami told me that someone else possessed the same power after me, in Tokyo" he says

" Yes that's me. And can you be more careful! What if I was a detective?" I groan

" Well I could easily kill you" he says as I jump scared

" Good point" I reply

" Can I see your shinigami?" he asks

" I don't know how to show you" I say

" Do you carry the piece of paper with you that you found?" he asks me

" Always just in case. I don't know what it would do" he touches the piece of paper as soon as I grasp it out of my purse

By then I knew he could see my shinigami, Ryuk. He then hands out his piece of paper to me so I could see his. I saw a skull like shinigami with pinkish type hair, a very different shinigami to Ryuk.

" Hello, Annie Havé. I'm Rem" the shinigami speaks

" Hello, Rem" I reply

I turn back around towards the food table, to see L waiting for me.

" Excuse me, but someone's waiting for a dance I think" I say

" Hold on Annie! We will call eachother as contact. But meet me after the celebration is over okay" he demands

I pause to grab his phone number and then I start to run towards L.

" What took you so long?" he asks

" Light was just telling me how he's staying in Tokyo for a while" I explain to him

" Light, what a nice name" he says

" Are you jealous?" I laugh

" Jealous! Of him! O god no! Jusy because he's happening to stay in Tokyo when we're here. And that he danced with you" he moans

I then grasp his hand tight and run in the middle of the room. I get him to start moving, to dance. But we both seem pretty pathetic at it!

Then L opens his eyes out of fear, and twirls me around the room. His best dance moves, showing! I never knew he could dance like that!

" Annie," he whispers and then pauses

" I could actually fall for you" he whispers again

Ahh! Would he actually? No way? He likes me?

What?! L does like her?! But what about Light? Annie can't just ignore him! Will she continue to work with L or not?
