Silence

L Pov;

As she hears those words she loves to hear

" I could actually fall for you"

I knew what her reaction would be. She stepped away slowly, looking down at her colourless shoes. I knew I had been rejected.

" I'm sorry to hear that" she says sadly

Annie. You're the only thing I've ever wanted. I feel like you're the first friend I've ever had. I knew I was going to be rejected. But a hug would have been nice.

She steps forward slightly, her tilted down. Why does she look so utterly depressed? She shouldn't live her life feeling sorry towards everyone.

I step back to give some space, and she steps towards me again. What is she doing? And out of nowhere she whispers in my ear.

" I don't date the insane" she whispers quietly

She then steps back and faces me. Without thinking, she comes closer and so do I. To only see nothing happen.

Why was she stepping towards me like that? I was expecting something, not nothing! I'm too confused.

" Annie? What are you doing?" I ask her in middle of the room

" Honestly, I don't know" she answers

She then walks away, outside to the pouring rain in her beautiful gown. I follow her only to see her crying her eyes out.

" Annie! Are you okay?!" I ask nervously

" You wouldn't understand Ryusaki" she answers me while standing with her face up to the rain

" And why not?" I ask

" Because you can't!" she shouts while turning back at me

" Annie, I think I know more than you think"

" You are suspecting me. I knew it. Why me out of all people. To take to a fancy restaurant, on a jet ride home from an incident. Why? I don't believe it" she rants at me directly

I pause for a moment. Trying to think of a response that she will recieve. But nothing comes out.

" All this. Because of a stupid person dying. Hold me captive if you want! I don't care anymore! But I know that I didn't do it, so stop tormenting me and leave me alone!" she shouts and walks off crying in the pouring rain, still in her dress

" Annie! Wait!" I shout back at her, running for her

I'm shocked! I turn around the corner, gone. I've lost her, and I will never see her again?!

Annie. Why?

Sorry for the short chapter to my usual ones, but I thought here was a good/sad place to end.
I'm sorry that Annie didn't kiss L! But they might/not kiss in the future.
