Your stomach had been in knots since the moment dean texted you that morning.
Dean🤍
Ready?
No.
Dean🤍
Too bad. Mom already made enough food for ten people.
stop that somehow makes me even more nervous.
Dean🤍
You're overthinking it. They'll love you.
Easy for him to say.
The drive to his parents house felt way too short. Dean was humming along to whatever playlist was playing while you kept fixing your outfit every five seconds.
"Stop," he laughed, taking one hand off the steering wheel to gently grab yours.
"What if they don't like me?"
"They will."
"What if I say something weird?"
"You say weird things around me all the time."
"Dean!"
"I'm kidding." He smiled. "Seriously, just be yourself."
"That's exactly what I'm worried about." He laughed so hard he almost missed the turn into the neighborhood.
"it's not funny dean!" She covers her face.
Before you even had the chance to knock, the front door swung open.
"There you are!" his mom beamed.
She immediately pulled dean into a hug before looking at you with the biggest smile.
"And this must be y/n." Her eyes lit up
"Hi, it's so nice to finally meet you." She smiles nervously.
"Oh, sweetheart, come here."
before you knew it, she was hugging you too.
some of your nerves disappeared instantly.
dean leaned over and whispered "see?"
You quietly muttered, "Don't get cocky."
The house somehow felt exactly like dean. Warm. Cozy. Lived in.
family pictures covered the walls.
There were photos of little dean missing his front teeth, dean with ridiculously long hair, dean holding random trophies almost bigger than he was.
"Oh my goodness," you laughed, stopping at one picture.
It showed what looked like ten year old dean wearing oversized sunglasses and making the most dramatic pose imaginable.
He groaned "Mom."
"What?" she said innocently.
"Why is that still on the wall?"
"Because it's adorable."
"It absolutely isn't."
"It absolutely is," you replied.
His dad chuckled."I've got worse ones." Dean looked horrified. "No."
His father was already pulling out his phone.
"No, dad."
"Absolutely yes."
Within seconds you were looking through an entire album of embarrassing childhood pictures.
