The flashes were everywhere. Cameras went off non stop as jude held your hand and smiling like he was born for this. He looked so calm in his black suit and waving and answering questions. You tried to keep smiling too, but the lights and the noise were too much.

Your dress sparkled, people kept saying how good you looked but it didn't make you feel better.

"y/n!! You look so stunning!" one photographer shouted across the red carpet.

"You and jude look so good together!!" another one shouted which made u smile since you agree.

The red carpet felt endless your chest was tight, your smile felt forced except when someone complimented u and jude. Every shout from photographers made your heart race. You squeezed jude's hand once hoping he'd notice but he was too busy.

By the time you got inside you finally breathed a little and It was quieter but jude was still caught up with friends and teammates. You sat next to him not really talking but just pushing food around your plate.

Halfway through, jude finally looked at you properly, you weren't laughing, your shoulders were tense. His smile faded.

"Hey" he whispered leaning close

"Are you okay love?"

You hesitated "It's just...a lot tonight"

His expression softened guilt in his eyes. "I should've noticed earlier" he rubbed your hand under the table

"I'm sorry, love do you wanna leave?"

You nodded relief washed over you when he squeezed your hand again.

Back home jude tossed his suit jacket on the couch and went straight to the kitchen. He came back with popcorn, chips, chocolate anything he could grab. You laughed when you saw him balancing it all.

"There's my girl" he grinned, setting the snacks down.

You changed into his hoodie and curled up on the sofa jude sat beside you, pulling a blanket over both of you before hitting play on a random movie. He wrapped his arm around you and kissed the top of your head.

"Better?" he asked softly.

"Much better." You nodded

He smiled, holding you even tighter. "Good because this is all I wanted anyway."

The red carpet and flashing lights were already forgotten. All that mattered was being here warm, cozy, and safe in his arms.
